The Beginning of the Procedure

Sean lied down on the table. He knew the procedure was going to go well he just had never had it done on him before.

"You ready?" His coworker asked. She had been working with him for a large portion of his career. Jasmine knew Sean better than anyone. That is why she was the one doing the surgery.

In 2109, Jasmine met Sean. They attended the same med school and there were beginning the body scans. Each person walked into a capsule and had their bodies scanned.

They would walk into the capsule and it would shut airtight behind them. Then a camera would adjust it's zoom and then lock in on the figure. Afterwards it would release a graphed, yellow circle. The circle slowly moved down the person making edits on the computer it was hooked up to.

The students would walk out of the capsule and would then go find someone else's results. Jasmine and Sean ended up getting each other's.

They studied each other's soul and mind. They learned facts about the other's body. They knew everything about each other as God knew.

"Jasmine, I know you haven't done this operation as lead surgeon before but you know this procedure forwards and backwards. You've got this." Sean tried hard to keep a straight face. While they knew everything about the other, he had never had surgery before let alone on his hypothalamus.

Jasmine didn't know the surgery as well as Sean thought. She had seen it happen and helped but she could never do it on her own. But she couldn't let Sean know that.

Jasmine looked around the room. She walked as people walked by and stared through the door. Her brown hair attracted many and she was believed to be the most entertaining surgeon to watch.

She glanced at the walls. Looking at all of the different surgery equipment. She shook her head and headed straight for the sink.

"So, Sean, how are the girls?" she said uneasily.

"They're doing good. Annabelle just got her bachelors degree in marketing and Josephine just got a new car from her rich friend for her. I think it is the Tesla Model S-X43" Sean replied. Jasmine continued to thoroughly wash her hands when her heart skipped a best. What if she failed her best friend? What if she messed up and put him into a coma? She took a deep breath and turned off the water.

"I can do this." She whispered confidently.

She walked back over to the operating table and grabbed the anesthesia mask. She safely put it on his face and then waved at him. This would be the last thing Sean would see for 20 years.
