20 Years Time (Part 1)

Jasmine set down the lamp and proceeded to take her gloves off. She grabbed the tools and did a cleaning of both her hands and her equipment. She then proceeded to turn off the electrical equipment and relieved the other surgeons from their duties. She walked over to the operating table wear Sean lie sleeping. She then proceeds to take off the anesthesia mask and hears the sound of the mask disconnecting and then zipping back to the table where it lay stationary.

Jasmine grabs the smelling salts from her desk. The operation on the hypothalamus needs a lot of anesthesia because she is working on the part of the brain where sleep functions. If she were working on any other part of the brain she would have used less of the chemicals. She put the salts under Sean's nose but nothing happens. This is very unusual for this procedure. Usually the smelling salts wake the patient up immediately after. Nothing happened.

Panicking, Jasmine runs all over the room grabbing anything that could be stronger than the smelling salts. She stood in place and took a few deep breaths. She noticed she was sweating. She had to calm down. She slowly walked back to the operating table and used the strongest smelling salts. In this day and age, there were two variants. The normal salts, and the strong salts. The normal salts were the ones used for years. The other variant were recently developed and were said to awake anyone from any slumber no matter how strong.

Jasmine takes the salts and put them under Sean's nose. Still nothing. Now Jasmine didn't know what to do. She could tell Sean wasn't dead given the fact that they had his vitals on the holoscreen next to her. He was actually perfectly normal. He just couldn't wake up.

10 Years Later***

Jasmine walked into the room and used the holoscreen to see if he was any closer to waking up. She had done this every week since the moment Sean had been put into the coma. They had determined that this sleep was the worst they had ever seen. Some people are in a coma for the rest of their life but something about Sean's was particularly interesting. Usually there is something there to determine what about the person made them go into the coma.

Dr. Steven Ross created the holoscreen in 2063 and it was later determined that it could be used for many more things. Then in 2081, Dr. Annet Silvo created the mechanics that could let this become smaller or larger. She called it atomic tech. It had been given other names in the past but when it was invented Silvo was the one to get to name it.

Jasmine opened her phone and proceeded to call SHSL (Surgeon Help and Staff Line). Just as she hung up her call Annabelle and Josephine walked into the door. "Annabelle, Josephine, what a lovely surprise." Jasmine said.

"What brings you here Jasmine?" Josephine asked.

"I come in here every Tuesday at 10. To check his vitals. I know this room better than the one I grew up in." Jasmine managed a chuckle.

"Well it is good to see you. We've come to say hi to our dad. We haven't been able to see him for quite some time and we just really wanted to see how he is doing. So how is he doing doctor?." Annabelle asked politely.

"He is doing the same as he was doing after the surgery." Jasmine replied. "Just the same old same old."

"Why is there a P(Portable)TV in here?" Annabelle inquired.

"Just in case he is able to see and hear we leave this on." Jasmine didn't think he could do anything. He was just lying there without doing anything.

Little did she know, Sean could hear everything. Only there was one thing blocking his way of being able to do this all the time. These peculiar dreams he had been having. It was as if they were being forced upon him. It showed total destruction of a world he had never seen. It showed a world where the species had been forced out. It showed a world that destroyed it self. Then it showed something in space. A large capsule floating with jet engines the size of entire moons flying around the galaxy.

Other times it showed a species he had never seen before fighting. It showed bombs being set off. Things that humans had only theorized. Then it would blip over to the large capsule floating in the sky. He had thousands of dreams. And every one of them ended with the large capsule floating in space.

Jasmine gasped as Sean's brain was showing neurosignals. She could see that he was receiving them from an unknown source. The signals were extra terrestrial. They were something that no one had ever viewed before. Nothing like this had ever been in observation before and she wanted to understand it.

Jasmine sat down and moved her screen to her personal holoscreen. She then proceeded to zoom in on the part of the brain that makes dreams. It appeared that it was getting ideas from something not on earth.

In 2095, someone managed to find a way to determine where someone was getting their dreams. While it seemed useless at the time it was used often in these medical procedures. And right now it was being more helpful than the holoscreens.

Jasmine again zoomed on the dreams and was able to catch a glimpse of one. It showed bombs going off and civilizations being destroyed. Then again, the large capsule in the sky. Only this time the capsule was focused on a single area. Then it panned over to the exact room she was in only to find that she was seeing herself while looking in someone else's dreams.
