Chapter 30: Nora

My parents took me to their favorite restaurant. It is a scary old diner that is like a hundred years old. It is shaped like one of those old train car diners you see in movies. The seats are way too and are a mix of comfortable and ouch is that spring in my ass.

They got what they always get. A bacon cheeseburger and tots split down the middle. I ordered chicken strips with extra garlic bread. They have the best garlic bread in the world and if it was okay to just order a loaf of that I would.

“So how’s the world of funny books going Nora?” asked my mom while we were waiting for our food to arrive. “Funny books? Comic Books! How many times do I have to tell you?” She just laughed and covered her mouth. “It’s going really well. Wilk has gotten our book in a few shops in Seattle and the word seems to be pretty positive” I said stirring my water with a straw.
