Micah had never run so fast in his life. Even as a wolf, the sprint had his lungs screaming, his muscles tightening up in pain, but he didn’t slow down. He would never forgive himself if he didn’t save the two people he cared about most in this world.
If Libby killed Rory, he would not only lose the girl he had fallen in love with, his sister would be blacklisted, banned from New York, and he would never see her again.
He tore through the bushes, leaping into the air. Rory was tied to a tree, and Libby was racing towards her. But Micah had an advantage, he’d taken a short cut, putting him directly in between the dwindling space between Rory and Libby. He intercepted his sister with seconds to spare, his body colliding into her and knocking her into the ground.
“No!” Rachel screamed.
Libby fought back against Micah, growling, clawing at his face.
Micah funneled his sister’s face in his head.
'Libby. You are Libby,' he thought.
