Chapter 42: The Lord

“You’re late.” Lady Sloane’s red heels tapped on the cobblestones, waiting by the intimidating, gunmetal gray gate of Steelpoint Coven. She had a black carriage complete with crimson trim waiting outside the gates.

They arrived right on time, so she just must be anxious.

“Oh, did you want to spend some more time with us, Sloane? We’re flattered, truly.” Tival replied with a sly smirk.

The blond drampire dismounted Blaze and then fussed a bit with his white uniform.

“Don’t push your luck, you base-born cur. Now get inside the carriage and leave your horses here. My attendants will tend to them.” Lady Sloane instructed and Heldon didn’t like leaving Midnight.

Especially since he would put down good money that Lady Sloane hoped to keep the two horses, regardless of if they succeeded or not.

“If we are going to succeed, that means we need to work together, so if we use your name, you can use ours,” Heldon said, voice low and patience thinning.
