“So, any ideas on how to get back to Earth?” Mason asked Montez as he wrapped a blanket around his body. “No clue,” the genius responded. “The only way I knew how to get back home was using the portal I came through, but that one only lasted for 30 minutes,” he concluded.
“This really sucks. I barely remember my old address at my parent’s house, and now I have to try and figure out which way leads back to Earth,” Mason complained as he sat on the floor and stretched his legs out. “I could build us a boat out of the oak from the trees and use the leaves as sails. We could escape the island through the water,” he suggested.
“Boy, ain’t no way we’re making it through those waves in one piece. Besides, we wouldn’t even know where to go,” Montez rejected his solution.
“Brighten up, kid,” the Chief chimed in. “There’s no way off this island the way you’d leave the ones on Earth. It’s the very reason my people pleaded with the Gods to send us to a place such as this,” he claimed.
