Chapter 16: Unwanted Guests

Taigh stared at his brother, waiting for an answer. Faelen rose slowly and released a barely audible growl.

“Arras…a relationship between you would be devastating, dangerous and a disaster!”

Rhea froze in her seat as Faelen carefully walked over to stand between the brothers.

Arras stepped around the dog to stand in front of Rhea, and she felt his presence, although intimidating, was comforting.

“It’s none of your concern,” Arras said coldly.

“It is a concern, brother! Think about it, Arras. She’ll grow old before your eyes and die, and you will be as alone as ever,” Taigh growled.

Arras stepped up to his brother fists clenched, “You need to mind Tristana, and not worry about Rhea.”

Faelen once again stood between the brothers, forcing them to back up.

Taigh shook his head, “What are you going to do when you need to feed? Have you discussed that with her? Are you still using the deer? How long before you must take a human again?”
