Rhea took the cab driver, Edwin’s, number from her purse and called. Faelen had returned to the calm, friendly dog he usually was, and sat beside Rhea while she waited. Edwin was there within minutes.
“Where are we going?” he asked.
“Mordhas Investment Company,” Rhea replied.
Edwin turned to look at the dark sky, “The Mordhas Investment Company, right now?”
“It’s important, Edwin,” Rhea could still feel the cold fingers around her neck, and she shivered at the memory. “I have to speak to Arras Mordhas.
“I hope you have garlic,” he mumbled with raised eyebrows.
Rhea looked at the cab driver sharply. She couldn’t tell if the man knew about Arras being a vampire, or if he was just sharing some more of the city’s ancient lore. He said nothing more about the destination, and pulled up in front of the office building. Rhea could see the cathedral nearby.
As she paid and opened the door to leave the cab, Edwin turned with worried eyes, and pointed at the cathedral.
