So, at that moment when vampires and mortals stood together in a crowded, beat-up manor library, a pact was made. Mortals would keep the secret of the vampires, and help collect the needed ingredients to rebuild the cure that was used on Rhea.
“And no biting,” Andrew raised a finger at the vampires. “No bites.”
Aedan raised an eyebrow but quickly became serious when Arras glared at his friend.
“Agreed,” confirmed Arras.
After supper, which included venison and caused Stephen to raise his eyebrows at the vampires, the group sat around the fireplace in the sitting room.
“I don’t know if this will work, as the ingredients need to be collected at certain places and combined at certain times,” Arras looked at the ancient documents he had brought down from his room.
“What can we collect first?” Andrew said logically. “Let’s start there.”
“Herbs,” Arras began writing out a list. “There are some common herbs, usually easy to get, but these need to come from the cathedral grounds.”
