Chapter 28: Enduring Swords of Courage Come Calling

Rhea blinked, “Let me see if I can find him, Jasper. He may have gone out.”

Jasper looked at Rhea skeptically, “Thank you.”

“Why don’t you ask him in?” Hoffman mentioned quietly.

Rhea gave a quick shake of her head. She left the entrance of the manor and headed down the hall to Taigh and Arras.

“Who is it?” Taigh asked tensely.

“Jasper?” Rhea answered.

Taigh’s shoulders dropped and he looked at Arras, “Go, get Aedan and Brennus out of here. If he traced me here, he knows there are vampires near. I’ll see if I can send him away.”

Rhea looked nervously at Arras, “I’ll come with you.”

“No,” Taigh said quickly. “You have to act normal. Go, bring him into the sitting room and I’ll come.”

“It will be alright,” Arras kissed Rhea quickly on her forehead. “We will see each other later.”

Rhea nodded, and casting a worried glance over her shoulder at Arras, she made her way back to the door. Taking a deep breath, she put on a brave smile as she addressed the man waiting at the door.
