Lindi lifted a brow when she saw the limo, but didn't say anything. Rafe felt foolish until he saw the twins' interested gazes.
He took them to a restaurant that had decent food and also catered to children. Having a PA with grandchildren had made it easy to find the right place. When the waitress offered the boys crayons and pictures to color in, they stared at her. Rafe had to admit, if only to himself, he enjoyed seeing someone else suffering that look.
Lindi said, "Boys." That was all - they immediately accepted the proffered goods and offered a polite if reluctant thank you.
"How do you do that?" he asked after the kids who muttered about stupid crayons, turned over the paper, and started drawing complicated-looking diagrams on the back.
She blew out a br+eath. "Years of practice. It was either get in control or go crazy," she said with a wry smile.
