In the dark, he lifted up onto his elbow. "I love you too, Lindi - I never stopped loving you. If I wasn't a blind fool, we could've been together sooner." He leaned down and kissed her, a long, sweet, passionate kiss. Then he sank back down into the mattress, drew her into his arms, and they fell asleep. Just before she sank deep into sleep, she heard him mutter, "You called me Rafe."

Rafe woke alone. He took a quick shower and went to look for Lindi and the boys. The loud music from the living room clued him in. He grinned; he loved watching their inventive dance routines.
The twins stood slightly behind her, all of them holding imaginary mics and singing off-key with gusto. They'd learned that joy in life from their mother. It was a gift worth more than millions of dollars. Lindi looked up and smiled when she spotted him. That smile tore through him like a blaze of sunshine.
