Chapter 33: Stolen dress

He held out his arm in a gesture that rivaled the king's in elegance. She took it, and he led her to the big open area at the entrance to find the priest frantically trying to find the door in the wall they'd used to enter the cave. Muttering desperate prayers, he slapped the silver wall and then flinched as if he expected the wall to come alive and slap him back.

She could've told him that if that door didn't want to be found, he wouldn't find it. And to be honest, she wasn't so sure the wall couldn't come alive and slap the priest if Zain ordered it to do it. This might be a place of wondrous knowledge, but it was disconcerting, as well.
