I lower my arm and peak through a slit in my hands. I take in the blood covering the snow just in front of me.

"Alex." A dark figure stands far to my left, the eyes glow a bright red. His coat flaps to the side.

"Kian!" I scream. My body listens as I struggle to stand and run, tripping and falling several times into his outstretched arms. I cling tightly as I hear heavy, disjointed footsteps.

"Close your eyes," he whispers. "I've got you."

The day passed uneventfully, with the news that the killer had been caught and apprehended spreading like wildfire. Campus life hadn't quite returned to normal; even the human students are wary though they don't know the exact details. I hadn’t heard anything further from Kian. I could have been angry with Z for dragging me from him. I had a chance to ask some questions, but it had been cut short before I had the opportunity.


So now, I'm waiting outside the training room again. Every so often, I hear a few grunts from inside, followed by thumps from the bodies hitting the ground.
