This was going to be the end of me. I closed my eyes, not wanting to see the cliff's edge. How can I die so young? I haven't even finished high school I was graduating four weeks from now. I wanted to see my own graduation. I gripped my seat with all the might I had braced for an impact that never came.

"You can open your eyes now," He said. I opened my eyes and saw that the surroundings were familiar. It looked like the same place that Cane and I stopped before it started raining.

"Are we back?" I asked him my eyes pleading for him to say yes. He nodded and that was my queue to leave the car. I tried opening the door but it was locked. I sighed with frustration and turned back to him smiling. "Can you please unlock the door? I want to save myself from all this weirdness." I refused to believe in anything that happened today. It was the drug that Andrew gave me so strong that I have intense hallucinations. I can't believe I thought that the rain was blood. Samael looked at me with pity but didn't say anything. He unlocked the door and I got out. So happy to be back to the reality I know of, I walked all the way home. I fixed my dress and removed my uncomfortable shoes. I began moving in the opposite direction of the forest. After what took hours up the road I finally arrived back home.

The lights were off that meant that he was asleep. With relief, I happily ran to the back of the house, hoping my dad was not awake to see me like this. I opened the back door and stealthily crept toward the staircase in the direction of my room. I squinted my eyes looking for the safest pathway to the stairs. As I walked forward, my hand touched the surface of what I assumed to be the counter. The surface was wet and sticky. I retracted my hand from the surface and removed my phone from my pocket. It was only 1:00 AM, with 24 missed calls from my dad and 7 voicemails. I unlocked my phone and listened to one of the voicemails.

"Eyllah, listen to me do not...fjfjklmqw... I repeat do not ...fjfklmqw... unless you want to...hqtqgdts...okay?" What was he going on about? I couldn't even hear him properly. I opened the next one.

"Please just...gwqkqekkq... to the ...hjqbqjqhj... okay?" This did not make any sense. The other voicemails were the same as the first ones. Did I really freak him out that much? I made a mental note to apologize to him tomorrow at the picnic. I put my phone back in my pocket and continued walking toward the staircase.

"How can it be so dark in here!" I mumbled squinting my eyes in the darkness. I walked up the staircase hoping not to trip on it as I gripped the rail hard for support. I did not want another lecture I was just too worn out to deal with it. Happy my plan was working out, I ran across the hallway to my room and shut it.

"Mission success," I whispered to myself. This was the first time I sneaked back home without him catching me. I switched on the lights only to be met by a gruesome scene. Blood was all over the walls on my bed sheets and all my belongings were thrown all over the floor. The window was half open with blood smeared all over. What had happened? In the middle of the room, there was a body lying face down in a pool of blood. My eyes widened realizing the gravity of this situation. Life had been lost or in the process. I immediately ran towards the body as my heart raced hoping it was not my dad, I still had a lot of things to tell him. I still needed him in my life, it was still too early.

Tears formed in my eyes as I knelt beside the body trembling in fear. I stretched my hand in an attempt to turn the body but my hand froze mid-way as I realized it was not him. The body had tattoos all over his hand and my dad did not. I got up and went straight to my dad's bedroom hoping that I was not too late, everything was thrown to the ground and the window was broken. But there was no one there. My heart increased its pace as I ran downstairs preparing for the worst. I switched on the lights but there was no one.

The living room looked the same as I had left it in the morning and nothing seemed to be missing. I ran towards the kitchen and switched on the lights it was the same as my bedroom but there was nobody. Blood was dripping from the counter and the kitchen cabinet I looked at my hands then realized I had touched some of it. I tried to wipe off the dried blood from my hands, holding my breath fearing for the worst as tears trickled down my eyes. Where was my dad? Maybe he was in the shed hiding from what happened. I comforted myself with the idea and ran out of the house towards the back shed hoping he was there but to no avail. Where had my dad gone? I ran to the front porch reminding myself that I had to stay calm and call the police. I took my phone out and opened the dialing pad. I called the first number that appeared in my head trembling in fear.

"Hello." A voice answered.

"Pl...please h... "I could not get the words out.

"Calm down and tell me where you are." The voice said.

"H...om...e"That was all I could manage.

"Okay, I am coming," He said before the line disconnected.
