The blood rain had no mercy on me. The raindrops fell on my skin with an intense force that I knew would leave marks. I ran directly towards the forest that was nearby. I had to get away from Samael. It wasn't easy navigating my body toward the forest but I made it. I ran under a huge tree that had large roots protruding from the ground. The roots were large enough to form shelter from the rain.
"Eyllah!" I heard what assumed was Samael's voice. It was getting closer by the minute. I hid under the roots of the tree my heart pounding hoping that he would not find me. A tall figure emerged from the thicket that was beside me. After a minute two other figures appeared beside the tall one. As they got closer, I got to see who they were. Panic struck my body as I crouched paralyzed from fear. Cane and Zander were looking for me. I began praying that they do not find me. Cane moved closer to where I was. If he moved any closer he would spot me so I moved closer to the tree. Just then a hand covered my mouth. I gripped the foreign hand and tried to remove it from my mouth while wriggling out from my captor.
"Shhh! Don't scream it is just me." A familiar voice said. I turned towards Samael shocked that he knew where I was. He let go of me and moved back. Still crouched under the tree I moved further away from him. I turned my attention back to Cane. Just then the three guys passed the huge tree heading in the opposite direction. I let out a sigh as I relaxed my body on the back of the tree. Samael looked at me with a curious expression on his face.
"Why did you hide from them?" He asked.
"You hid from them too you know," I told him. He laughed and closed the distance between us.
"I was just helping a frightened girl. Maybe I should have shown them where you were." He sighed. He crawled towards the entrance and stood up. He stretched his arm towards me with a smile. He helped me out of the tree and gave me his car keys. I looked at him doubting his intentions. He grabbed my arm pulling me in the direction that I had just come from. We reached the car in a matter of seconds. He then signaled for me to get into the driver's seat.
"You want to go home, I know you do not trust me but maybe this can prove to you that I am not lying." He said heading towards the passenger seat.
"Samael, you can just drive besides I do not know how to drive." I smiled at him coyly as he looked at me surprised at my statement. I gave him the keys at got in the car.
"Are those guys the reason that you left the part earlier?" He asked me. I closed my eyes trying to think of anything other than the past.
"Well, it's a long story," I put on a fake smile not revealing any further.
"Will you tell me about it? I have got time." He said I shook my head as we continued our way through the long windy road. The rest of the ride was spent in peaceful silence it was as if he knew that I needed it. He passed through several houses that were uniquely built. They had large stone pillars at the entrance serving as the door and like the mansion, it has engraved drawings on it.
"Those are common houses in this world. If you come back in the future I will show you around. We have spectacular views about everything here." He told me with an enthusiastic voice and looked as if he was proud of what's was saying. Somehow like he builds the place. I smiled at him for his enthusiasm.
"I am sorry if I sound a bit overjoyed." He then kept quiet as we came across a narrow bridge. The bridge itself looked like it was about to collapse. It was a wooden bridge covered with veins from the plants that grew on the side of the tree. The bridge itself was wide enough for the car to fit but not two. The boards forming the surface were rotten and looked like they would give in at any moment. I grabbed ahold of the seatbelt not comfortable with what was about to happen. Samael continued to drive forwards increasing the speed of the car to what felt like the max.
"What do you think you are doing?" I asked him. My voice was love confirming my panic.
"How do you think you will get home?" He spoke. His concentration was full on the bridge that we were about to go on. This was madness he was planning on killing me all along. How could I get out of a situation like this? I tried to take control of the steering wheel believing that it was better to crash than to die. He simply shrugged me off and continued with his trance. I folded myself in my seat and closed my eyes shut hoping that it would be over soon. The car started to go at a speed that I did not think was possible. Then I came to realize, he was speeding but it seemed that we were never getting any closer to the bridge. It was more like the more we speed the further it gets. How was this even possible? Am I really in another world? If I am how will I get home to my dad?...more and more questions started floating in my head. I could not handle this anymore. The day just gets bizarre as time goes by. My breaths became short as I struggled for air curled up in a big ball on my seat. I tried to calm myself down by arranging my thoughts but it did not work.
