Chapter 25: Changes

Chapter 25: Changes

~Ren Y. POV~

[U.A. High School, Class 1-A, Japan]

It was already morning, and I felt completely recharged. If I remember correctly, it won't take much for me to face my first villain – hmm. No, it would be villains.

I know in the anime that it would take a day for it to happen. But it's been a few days, and the event hasn't happened yet. I don't know if I changed anything or hasn't happened yet which felt off to me.

Or it could be my paranoia. But other than that, I happened to have other friends outside of Class 1-A. Izuku Midoriya and Neijre Hado.

We see each other during our break time in UA, and we also text one another. From what I heard from him, his already tinkering with some support items following his dream and Neijre congratulated me for making it to UA.

He told me that during his first day, his class was presented with the hero course's costumes. He told me how much he liked my Hero uniform, although he did mention it was a bit of the flashy side.

If even the broccoli boy says, then I know I'm wrong somewhere. But I did ask him some questions about my classmate's Quirks and how he thinks they should improve or incorporate some support gear into them.

I had some I did like and some that were impossible. However, he did have good ideas at the ready, texting me what he thought now imagine my surprise with Bakugo seeing Izuku here in UA.

What I expected was him to talk trash, but to my surprise, he seemed to back off. I wonder if my words shook him or changed his perspective about Quirkless people, considering this school has a no-bullying policy in that regard.

It is, after all, the best school in Japan, but then again, everyone here is busy becoming a hero, so there's that. But I did say to Izuku if anyone tried to pull that shit, then let me know so I can give them an excuse to kick their asses.

Although my words seemed to have affected a few of the girls they stayed away from me for one reason or another. Only Tsuyu, Ochaco, and Jiro gave me some distance.

The other 3, Ashido, Toru, and Momo, didn't mind talking to me too much. Ashido used Kirishima as an excuse to thank me for saving her friends, returning to her upbeat attitude, and Momo asked me how to use her Quirk effectively if I used it. One word. Drugs.

She accepted it by using drugs to stun her or poison in her arsenal. Of course, they are non-lethal but provided some insight into sleeping gas composition as I pointed to talk to Midnight-Sensei.

Although Toru was the one that didn't seem all that indifferent from them spying on us boys a few days ago. I would dare say she was happy to see me judging by her happy tone but also scolded me for seeing her naked body.

However, a look at my [Observe] skill told me what I needed to know. She genuinely doesn't believe that I could see her since they don't know I have [Erasure] add that with [Transparent World], I don't need to use [Erasure] to 'see' her at all.

However, I retorted that her entire hero costume was made of boots and gloves. Case in point: I won my point. Plus, having eye candy and seeing her naked form was a win in my book. She seemed to also have an interest in me.

Whether out of friendship or something more has yet to remain seen. Other than those three girls, Ochaco, Tsuyu, and Jiro kept their distance from me. I would talk to them it was okay since I listened, but I'll wait for them to speak first if not, I'll make the first move.

Then there's Yui, Kinoko, and Itsuma. They were chill to talk with, discussing some interesting topics.

Kinoko seemed to be a shy girl, different from her canon counterpart in the future, but I tried to help her out. I tried discussing some cooking topics, learning that her favorite foods are mushroom cuisine and edible mushrooms. Should've seen that coming, honestly.

Yui seems to be a quiet girl who rarely expresses emotions like an ice queen but; some classmates even consider her a kudere. Despite her silent demeanor, Yui has shown to care for her classmates and has an interest in matryoshka dolls.

Itsuma Kendo is a spirited girl who is thoughtful of others. She does not hesitate to criticize even her classmates if she feels what they are doing is not correct, like whenever she karate chops and strangely likes black coffee and motorcycles.

Only more than half the girls in class talk to me and the few are on the fence. Toga doesn't count she's a given.

But that didn't matter as the class already ended, I headed back to Class 1-A, wanting to ask Aizawa-sensei. Making my way to the classroom, I was surprised to see Aizawa was still there but wasn't sleeping, just organizing some paperwork.

I see, It's good to know you aren't always sleeping around Aizawa-sensei. He soon noticed me coming as he spoke in a stoic tone, "Huh? Why the heck are you back here… stop right there, I see what you are doing, I think I'm beginning to understand your quirk. I request you don't touch me."

He says with a vague grin too bad it's too late for that. At least he was cautious about me copying his Quirk, but I wasn't here for that as I spoke in a neutral tone, "Darn. But Aizawa-sensei, I was wondering if I could send you a request for me to use the support class facilities?"

Handing him my request paper making sure I didn't touch him he took it as he explained to me in a stoic tone, "I'll see to it, but it'll take a while. But you'll only have access to them on Sundays or if you're willing to give up your free time, a member of the Support Class staff will be more than happy to supervise you."

Makes sense. UA is utilizing a long week system meaning students attend classes Monday through Saturday, only Sunday is when they have to themselves. I didn't mind sacrificing my time if it meant being able to use UA's Support Facilities and equipment free of charge.

Even acquiring materials was extremely costly, and many of the more useful items were prohibited to civilians. I could use my underground connections with Soga, but then that leaves even bigger problems if someone were to find out thus, I never bought a support item that would lead back to me.

With nearly the endless budget UA provided the Department of Production and Support, I could save myself a ton of time, energy, and money. Handing my paper over I understand this as I left the classroom leaving home for the day.

Though the meeting with Aizawa didn't last for more than a few minutes I was surprised to see Tsuyu, Ochaco, and Jiro waiting at the gates as I spoke to them in a calm tone, "Sup you three I didn't expect to see you here at the gates of the school. Are you waiting for someone…?"

Tilting my head, acting confused by their nervousness, Jiro was the first to speak up as she revealed what happened a few days back in a nervous tone, "Actually… we wanted to apologize to you a few days back. We heard your guy's conversation revealing a lot of personal stuff…"

She mumbled a bit, probably having been used to this as Tsuyu said bluntly, bowing her head lightly in an apologetic tone, "It's my fault, ribbit. My baa-chan always told me to be wary of boys who quickly compliment multiple girls. I thought you might have had an ulterior motive, ribbit…"

Seeing she was taking the blame judging by Jiro's eyes widened as Ochaco revealed a timid smile apologizing as well as sounding guilty, "Yeah. We wanted to apologize for eavesdropping on your personal life, but we ended up ignoring you and not finding a way to properly say it…"

Judging by their tones they're genuine about this. Sigh… this was not what I expected at the very least. But considering this is more human than anime logic I suppose I should change that perspective.

Living in this world is still weird. For god's sake, whatever God did to his creations that gave a man with a head of a toaster as a superpower is pretty fucked up in the head. And that's not to mention a fucking superpower is someone's head a fucking rocket launcher. I mean like what the hell big G?

Sigh… moving on to important topics.

Smiling lightly, rubbing the back of my head as I casually admitted in a calm tone the whole situation, "To be fair, that's not far from the truth. I can understand your guy's point of view, with Ashido suggesting the idea and Toga encouraging it. We're cool."

Seeing my nonchalant response, they looked a bit surprised, with Jiro asking with a raised eyebrow at my answer in a neutral tone, "Just like that? You'll let us off the hook that easily...?"

I shrugged my shoulders answering Jiro's question and responding in a neutral tone, "Pretty much. I mean what else do you want me to say? I'm just a chill guy like that."

They all blinked seeing how chill I was being with them. They probably assumed something or some high school drama to occur violating my trust. Please… I violated that ages ago, but they don't need to know that.

Rubbing the back of their heads sheepishly, seeing my lack of response, a sheepish chuckle emanated from Ochaco's throat. Tsuyu stared at me and offered one of her rabbits, pulling her cell phone out of her pocket and suggesting, "If that's the case, we should exchange contact information. I'm not used to using my phone, but I'll respond if you send me a text, ribbit."

Seeing this as a chance to increase our relationship status, I smiled as I answered her suggestion, "Of course. I only have a few people in my saved contacts and the guys, so I'm happy to have more."

With Tsuyu agreeing, I gave them my phone number as I soon received text alerts from unknown numbers. Opening them, one had a frog emoji, the other a music emoji, and the last filled with blank spaces.

Compared to everyone here, Ochaco has an outdated flip phone compared to those with smartphones. Understandable because of her living conditions of a poor girl background.

"Hey, Ren-kun!"

We all paused as they got to see Toga come around, I smirked, introducing the girls to her in a calm tone, "Hey, Toga! Glad to see you come and introduce yourself to them. Girls, this is Himiko Toga, my childhood friend."

Ochaco and Tsuyu seemed to freeze at my words, with Jiro greeting Toga in a cool tone with her hands on her waist, "We know we meet Captain Obvious. Also, she told us that you can hear our conversations right."

Being friendly, Toga smiled as she introduced herself as she stood next to my side, being friendly with our classmates in a cheerful tone, "Yeah, he usually does that. But I know he doesn't all the time, or else he'll get annoyed by the noises. That and he has very sharp instincts to know or not. Men should not have these powers?"

I raised an eyebrow at her as I was about to say it should be a woman. But my mind decided to keep my trap shut as that will not end well.

She even winked as Tsuyu managed to get out of her shock as she spoke, tilting her head in a blunt tone, eyeing Toga, "True that, Toga-chan, ribbit? You are the girl he talks about during your guy's time in Junior High?"

Toga nodded her head as she dropped a bomb on them, their eyes widening that we live together in a nonchalant tone, "Yup! Ren has been a big help in my life, even moving in together and taking care of me like a little sister. He's just that great of a guy to have in my life."

The three girls eyed me critically as I shrugged, leaving Jiro chuckling lightly at my recalling my previous conversation with the guys in a stoic tone, "Hahaha… Okay, okay. Sure, we'll go with that. You are what the dad of the house or something?"

Toga, only with a mischievous smile, said playfully, "Come on, Daddy~"

Rolling my eyes at her antics, Tsuyu didn't seem to care much, as she revealed in a blunt tone, tilting her head and seeing our interactions, "I guess we both have something in common, Ren-kun, ribbit. My parents were always busy at work, so I can understand taking care of someone since I had to take care of two of my younger siblings. Need any pointers, ribbit?"

Lightly smiling at this it seems like I managed to salvage our relationship. I suppose starting slow with this new life of mine is a good start as any. Introduce each other as we leave for the train station and back to our respective homes.
