Chapter Nineteen: Tempest

My feet are killing me, and I don't know how long I must follow Kairo through these damn woods. There is nothing but dead trees and mist everywhere.

The worst part of this trip was that I didn't know how to get home. Since I closed my eyes, I didn't know if I am physically here in this mysterious world that only mixed breeds like me could enter.

"Grandpa Kairo, how much longer do we have to walk?" I stopped next to a tree, holding my feet up as I whined. "My feet are killing me."

"What did you call me?" he stopped and turned, looking annoyed.

"Grandpa...Kairo... because you and Grandpa Augustus are brothers and - no?"

Kairo let out a low growl.

Nope, he didn't like that.

"Uncle Kairo?" calling him by a different name. His eyes squint. "Kairo?"

Kairo scoff. "Remember to memorize that name through your mind," he says and walks off.
