"Mom, who took care of Dad when he was a child?"

     One innocent question created a butterfly that brought chaos to the minds of Konoha's citizens. 

   Hinata never expected she would ever regret such a day. That day that opened secrets that Naruto so desperately concealed behind a foolishly smiling face.


Note: I saw a writing prompt somewhere about Naruto getting adopted by the Uchiha so I had to write this.

Naruto: Distorted Daydream

Boruto found something– Naruto's jacket. 


It was a coincidence that he found it. If he hadn't tripped over Himawari's legs and bumped into the cupboard he wouldn't have known of the existence of the box– no, another treasure chest!


He used his newly learnt skills from the academy and got the box down to rummage about again.


That's when he came across it. An old photo of an old man concealed in a pocket, and an orange jacket both neatly wrapped up in three layers of plastic.


The photo was hidden well. Boruto and Himawari decided to keep the photo to show their father and ask questions again. 


The zipper jacket had blue shoulders and hems. An Uzumaki symbol sat on its left sleeve. What was strange was a tiny scroll hanging below it with two strings and a little red plug.


It looked like a little catapult. Boruto pinched the red plug.


Naruto was really happy and filled with nostalgia as he held up and flipped the jacket around.


"Otou-san!" Himawari brought up the photo to him. 


"Eh?" Naruto had never seen that photo. He instantly had a lump in his throat looking at that rare picture of his master Ero-sanin, Jiraiya.


"Haha... when was this taken?" His half smile widened a little. 


Naruto was very happy to find that jacket after so many years when he had packed it away. It reminded him of many things so in his happiness, he hung it up in his study. He would frequently remind himself of his 'Shinobi Way' that way. 


Hinata asked if she could get it dry cleaned but he refused. 


He couldn't bear to. Afterall, those blue shoulder panels had a faint impression of a muddy palm. Of someone who would pat his shoulders and rub his head when he praised him. The palm print of Ero-sanin.

Sorry for the late update. Belated Eid Mubarak everyone! I have been a bit busy lately so my chapters have been collecting dust in the drafts. The next chapter will definitely be longer. I may increase my publishing speed now so do like and comment! What could that scroll contain, I wonder~
