Mikoto was tired. Her chest was sore. Both babies had good appetites. Naruto in particular liked to bite despite having no teeth so her teats were raw and she had to put on some baby safe patches.

Or wait. Maybe he did?

Mikoto checked the two month old Naruto's gums. His little pink tongue stuck out to suckle on her finger even in his sleep.

She laughed. As expected. Boys were born rowdy. Girls were gentler. She wished Sasuke was a girl but it was good this way too. Itachi wanted a brother anyway.

Sasuke and Naruto were like twins in the crib. They wouldn't sleep unless they were cuddling each other. When one cried, the other followed. Sasuke was a very smiley little child.

He laughed at anything Mikoto did to amuse him. Naruto would watch and have a gummy smile on his face too till the little whiskers on his cheeks curved.

Her finger traced Naruto's lower gums. It felt firmer than Sasuke's. And then she was surprised.

Naruto had teeth!

There were tiny incisors, almost like a kitten's budding through. She held his chin to open his mouth wider. There she saw, four rows of sharp, sharp, white crowns.

Mikoto shuddered in fright. Yet, despite her fear of the Kyuubi within Naruto, she held him as gently as she did Sasuke.

"Eep!"

Mikoto checked her finger. Her knuckle had an impression on it.

And that's when Mikoto decided–

"Nope. No more. I'm getting a breast pump."

It was a fine and sunny day. Five year old Itachi was not happy though.

His beloved mother was away from him. Fugaku was a good cook but not as good as his mother. He could only make one dish and that was egg rolls.

He had to stay home alone nowadays. None of his friends came out to play either so he decided do do basic training everyday and also pick up some cooking skills.

'I hope Sasuke grows up soon so he can eat what I make,' he daydreamed happily.

A quiet dinner. Fugaku was weary. Itachi worried for him.

He sat contemplating, jaw clenched while Itachi cleared the table.

"Tomorrow, I have a mission outside. Pack up, you'll be coming with me to gain some experience."

Itachi's eyes glowed.

------------------------------------------

Danzo was terrified. His precious Leaf village was almost annihilated. He had no power then.

Despite being a part of the Council and working so hard, he couldn't do anything.

That feeling of helplessness, hate, hate, he hated it so, so much.

Six months have passed since that day. None have recovered yet. The Kyuubi no Kitsune's chakra was devastatingly lethal. It burned like an inextinguishible fire. It syill flowed through some parts of Konoha burning lungs of whoever inhaled it.Some tried to absorb it but they all died.

Konoha was being eyed by many and it was at its weakest with the barrier destroyed.

The Third Great Shinobi war was still underway. Minato was supposed to attend a Kage Summit for peace talks but he's dead and gone. The other nations also withdrew from the summite to see if they could take over Konoha with their main protector gone. Some of Konoha's stronger shinobi had to be dispatched too.

Fury filled him. His presence at the Council meeting fully showed it.

"It's been six months, Uchiha."

Fugaku had come back from his long mission with Itachi.

"It's time your wife stopped and returned the Kyuubi."

Danzo was filled with venom. Sarutobi Hiruzen was mute. He couldn't veto this as it had already been agreed on.

"May I meet her?" Fugaku asked sombrerly.

Mikoto lived happily everyday. She was happy  happy, happy. She had two adorable babies to play with everyday and she didn't have to work at all.

She was happy.

So then, why was Fugaku crying?

"Fugaku?"

"Mikoto..."

She was happy.

"Fugaku, what are you talking about?"

"Mikoto, they said it's time up."

"What are you talking about, Fugaku?"

Sasuke was in the crib behind her crying too.

'He's just hungry. I'll feed him soon,' she thought.

"Hey look, Naruto's crying too now, Fugaku. Sasuke and Naruto always cry together. Fugaku, I need to feed my babies."

Fugaku was in despair. He hugged Mikoto as she stood there in a state of undress.

Disheveled hair, broken utensils, torn clothes, blood.

A messed up room.

Naruto... was long taken away.
