Spartan Trainings

It's been five months since Kira come to Auxilia Pilot school and it had been…..spectacular? Unlike what they anticipated of an exciting start of their mech pilot careers, the eager new potentates were given five months of rough and harsh welcome. They didn't receive any lessons about mechs nor piloting, they also not allowed to get close to mech or virtual pods, even though they are not prohibited from access their coms, they simply didn't have any time or stamina left after their trainings.

Their instructors would loudly barge at them everyday

"YOU THINK YOU CAN PILOT MECH JUST BY JUMPING IN THE COCKPIT?"

"WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU HAVE TO DEPLOY FOR DAYS? DO YOU THINK YOU CAN RELY ON STIMULANTS TO CONTINOUS FIGHTING FOR DAYS WITHOUT REST?"

"WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU ARE DEPLOYED DEEP BEHIND ENEMY LINES? DO YOU THINK YOU CAN TAKE YOUR SWEET TIME AND REST WHENEVER YOU WANT?"

"WHAT WOULD YOU DO WHEN ENEMY OUTNUMBERED YOU THRICE OR MORE? DO YOU THINK ENEMY WILL ALLOW YOU TO HAVE BREAK TIME?"

With those reasons the instructors forced the kids through many harsh trainings to raise their stamina and mental resilience, rarely there is any day when they have more than 6 hours to rest. Every early morning they will start their day with running ten lapses around training field, which is around ten kilometers, then they will have all kinds of physical trainings like push up, sit up, bar press etcetera. Sometime the instructors will wake they up in the middle of the night to train, sometime they will have to train without rest for two consecutive days. They also had many trainings that help build up mental resilience like having them jump down from watch tower or crawl under live fire. Even the meals are military styles with most of the time they only have nutritious but tasteless nutrition bars.

The result is satisfying though, in just five months, the new potentates all transformed. They became fit and resilience that one hard to believe they are only 10 or 11 years old kids. As they went through such harsh and militaristic trainings together also built up their discipline and cohesive at very high degree that you would only see in military units.

'The trainings are really tough, even with my 2.0 Endurance stat I still feel so exhausting, there were time I was so tired I can't even lift my body up and don't even have time to check out the system, i wonder if there is anything new though I don't expect any notable changes. It is surprising to see how these kids can keep up with such spartan trainings .'

'These trainings also have such effective results because the kids are young and malleable too. Even though they don't have advance equipment like Brightlight Primary SchooI but these types of tradition trainings are very helpful in building up discipline, mental resilience and cohesive. I should adopt some of these training for my future recruits.'

"GATHER UP!!!"

"So you kids have been here for five months. I'm happy to see that none of you drop out."

"Starting from today you will start having lessons about mechs and mech piloting."

"From now on morning will be physical and discipline trainings, there will be theory lessons in the afternoon. What? You think we will let you kids practice with real mechs so soon? Not a chance!"

"Evening will be your free time, you can rest or self learnings. But we expect you to spend time on improving yourself."

"ARE YOU CLEAR??"

"Yes Sir!" "Yes Sir!" "Yes Sir!"

"Now dismiss! Your lessons will start tomorrow. Enjoy your break time."

And so for the first time in five months the kids can finally have a proper rest. After having a small nap, Kira finally have chance to open the system.

'My time with the Larkinson and the Ainsworth was mostly spent on socialize and getting more licenses and books, even though I registered those licenses to Iron Spirit i haven't check out the game yet. I also didn't have any chance to read any of those new books.'

'As expected, there is not many change aside from my stats, my Strength increased by 0.2 and there is new Agility status at 1.3. Even my Spirituality finally increased, even though it is only 0.1. This is nice, this must be from the last five months of trainings. Even though there's implication from the novel but with this I can be sure that mental resilience or will power is tied to spirituality potential. Even if I can't replicate what Ves can do but at least with this I can try to find other ways to improve spirituality potential and advance to both high ranking mech pilot and mech designer.'

'To advance to high rank Mech Designer I need to realize my Design Philosophy, while to advance to high rank Mech Pilot I will need to establish my domain and most important of all, my Mech should be a reflection of my Design Philosophy and at the same time perfectly fitted with my piloting style and help me growth.'

'Even though this maybe too early to think about those advance things, but it's good to prepare in advanced. I don't think there is any successful case with both profession, but Ketis proved that it is not impossible to excel in two professions, I just need to find a design philosophy that fit and complement my piloting style and belief.'

'Well, I need to learn how to pilot mechs first and slowly find out my style. Let just read some books today, it's been so long since I last read something.'

Meanwhile in the Monitor Room, all of the important instructors are gathering and checking on the new kids.

"How are the new chicks doing? Anyone we should pay attention to?" - asked the headmaster, Ex-Major Lucas Podolski

"Kira Larkinson" - answered by Head Instructor Stan Armstrong

"Oh old man Jonathan's grandson and Roland's son? Aren't those Larkinson always good, is there anyone else?"

"This kid is special, all these trainings don't seem to be too hard for him. During these five months, never once I seen him break down or exhausted, this is the first in this school history."

"What? Is it true? Show me what is he doing."

".....What is it that he's reading?"

".....I think it's a virtual book about mech design, look at those diagram and schematics...?"

"While other kids are using this time to sleep, he is actually reading some book about designing mech in a school for mech pilot?"

"Pay more attention to him in theory classes."
