Chapter 26

The two walked back to the front porch and Ewura Ama walked into the sitting room hoping to see her mother there. Her mother was lying on the sofa, breathless.

“Mummy! What’s up with you?” Her mother, despite her willingness to explain her state, could not find any words to help her do so.

“Are you ill?” her mother nodded. “Should I get some help?” Her mother shook her head. She didn’t want any help. Ewura Ama rushed to Obaa Yaa to get some help.

“I'm afraid I have bad news. My mother is not feeling well. It seems very serious. She may need some medical attention soon. Can you help?”

" Asabea's father is a Doctor. Let's see how she may be able to help." Obaa Yaa was quick in judgment as usual and thought it wise to see Asabea first just as she had promised her friend.

Running impatiently to the truck, she fell flat, breaking her nose.
