Eliane

Lunch had passed and we were soon in fifth hour. I was walking to my class when I bumped into someone and whatever drink they had in their hand, fell to the ground.

"I am so sorry." Why does this keep happening to me? I bump into everyone. I grabbed the cup from off the floor and handed it to them. Seeing what looked like a coffee stain on their hoodie, I mentally face palmed myself.

"It's ok. I'll just get another coffee." I finally looked up at his face. He had a little smile, a one of pity. I guess he could sense how sorry I was. He had brown eyes and light brown hair. As I was staring at him, I noticed a small cut on the end of his left eyebrow.

"Why don't you take a picture? It'll last longer." I rolled my eyes and smiled at him.

"We just met and you're already sarcastic. Isn't that something?"

"We'll we just met and you've managed to get my favorite cup of coffee all over my favorite hoodie. Isn't that something?"

I couldn't even say anything. But we both broke out laughing and it felt so good.

"I'm Jacob." He held out his hand.

"And I'm Elaine." We shook hands and he winked at me.

"So, where are you off to?" I asked.

"I'm actually leaving." I nodded my head. I didn't want to pry anymore than I already have.

"Alright. Well, see you tomorrow then." And with that, I began to walk away until I was called back.

"Elaine?" I turned around and Jacob walked towards me.

"Could I at least have your number?" I looked into his eyes and saw that he was genuine. Why not?

"Let me see your phone." And with that, I gave him my number, and we parted ways.

I walked away smiling. It felt good to meet new people. I hope my mom means it when she said that this is permanent. I don't want to lose anymore friends.

Going to my last class, I sat down, and listened to the boring lady talk.

Little did I know, I was being watched closely, and they weren't happy with what they've seen.
