“And that’s totally lame,” Zara said, hissing softly. The movie they were watching was getting to a climax and the main lead were connecting, having their moment right before the big battle to save the planet. It was weird to think of the scary things that were going on in the movie while she had her head on Andrew’s shoulder.
Andrew glanced at her, sighed and then wrote something and passed her the paper. “How do you mean, ‘lame’?”
She scoffed. “The kiss,” she said, sitting up straight. Her neck felt like she’d turned it the wrong way, hurting immensely. It was manageable though. “It was lame.”
“And you can do better?” Andrew wrote, smiling.
Zara’s heart skipped a beat. This was her chance. She’d heard of moments where one could trap someone else using a bet—sort of. She smiled widely, hoping Andrew would swallow the bait hook, line and sinker. “I could show you a better one.”
