“Have you seen Aaron today?” Gracie asked as they sat down in Andrew’s office. The long walk from the factory back to the main company building was exhausting. Why hadn’t they built a sort of escalator to help? “I haven’t seen him since we arrived.”
Andrew tore out a piece from his notebook. Gracie had once pointed out his wastefulness. There was no need for him to keep tearing out page after page when he could easily use a single notebook to write all he wanted. Was he trying to keep conversations secret?
Gracie took the note and read through it. “He’s at the factory. Mind you, it wasn’t on my insistence. He claimed he wanted to check out how assembling an aircraft was done.”
“You say that like I’m against you insisting that he should keep an eye on the process. I’m not that bad, am I?”
Andrew shrugged. “I might never know,” he wrote. “Besides, you protect Aaron too much.”
“Can you blame me if I feel a little sympathy for him?” she asked.
