52 Digging her grave with blackmail

Poison, Zara thought with a grimace. It was a dreadful thing to be poisoned. She’d spent the entire day—and the past three days after Bella’s death—pouring over the many possibilities. It could’ve been anyone. One of the servants could’ve slipped the poison into Bella’s food or drink, heck, they could’ve simply injected it into her while she slept.

That thought compounded Zara’s paranoia, making her shiver. She stared down at the plate of food that had been served to her as lunch, shivering. Who knew if it had been poisoned too? She sighed and stood, taking the food back to the kitchen. She’d have to satisfy herself with wine till Andrew finished what he was doing so they could eat out.
