After their father vanishes and their mother is brutally murdered, Katherine is forced to grow up and take on the role of becoming her sister's[Nessa] parents at such a young age. She finds refuge in the mafia that governs their town, as fighting is the only way she's learned to cope with having to protect Nessa and herself from the ones responsible for her parents' deaths. She meets people in this mafia who question her conservative character and tempt her to at least live a life where she may see happiness; little does she realize that this might either be the start of a new chapter in her life or the beginning of her worst nightmare.

Destiny's Mistake

I was rudely taken off my thoughts by the ringing of the school bell indicating the end of the lessons. I did not like how loud and irritating that sound was. 


I put my books in my back and started heading for the door. 


" Mr Kingston, a word please." Miss Linda called out to me. 


I walked over to her psycheless but quite relieved that the class was almost empty so no one would nose around whatever she'd tell me and make it gossip. 


" You've been very absent minded lately which is affecting your performance in the pop quizes. I also noticed Katherine hasn't been in class for the past almost two weeks, you two were pretty close might you know where she is?" 


" She went for a medical treatment out of town and she has a sister in this same school you could've asked." I said turning around to leave. 


Chapter Eleven
