Finding Blade

Heavenly Celestial City... It was an incomparably large city that spanned countless hundreds of thousands of miles.

On normal occasions, this city would be fairly bustling but, at the moment, one can say it was packed with cultivators.

The common folk was unaware why but, the Heavenly Celestial City had suddenly sent out news a couple of months back that they were accepting talented disciples.

Since then, countless cultivators who considered themselves geniuses and were confident in their abilities came from all parts of the continent to take part in the trials.

The trials had three parts to them. First was the bone age test where they weeded out any cultivator who tried to disguise themselves as part of the younger generation.

As for how to be defined as a member of the younger generation, one must be under the age of one hundred and fifty years. At this age, even Astral qualified as part of the younger generation.

Since it was common news, not many failed since not many dared to try to disguise themselves in front of a supreme Sect of this world.

Those who did, though they weren't killed since the Heavenly Celestial Sect wasn't demonic, they were greatly humiliated by the examiners.

The second trial tested one's willpower through a special location that placed one under an illusion and it was during this trial that participants began facing problems.

Out of ten individuals, nine failed as the requirement to pass was soo unnaturally high.

Those who had tried to enter the Heavenly Celestial Sect before these trials had come about were aware that these trials and the requirements were much higher thane ever before.

Lastly, was the third trial. Not much was known of the third trial though. Those who passed the third trial were immediately sent into the Sect while those who hadn't passed the third trial... died.

It was a ruthless fact that made those who reached the third trial falter. Especially those who had barely passed the second trial...

If they could barely pass the second trial, why would they dare try the third? Simply because they were young, it didn't mean they hadn't the ability to use some type of common sense.

Of course, some thought of themselves as favored by the heavens, the chosen one meant to cover the skies with one palm and gather a harem of beauties. They died the fastest in the third trial.

Currently, there was a large batch of cultivators currently standing in a line. These people had been waiting here for days now.

Since the Heavenly Celestial Sect only accepted one thousand contestants per trial, they had no choice but to wait patiently.

None dared to show their dissatisfaction. They were instead dissatisfied with themselves for taking such a long time to reach Heavenly Celestial City and register for the trials.

Walking up the stairs to the top of a platform, a hooded figure approached a golden-robed aged man sitting on a stone chair behind a table. On the table was a white orb the size of a football.

"Place your and on the age-sensing orb. Do not resist the energy since this would be sensing your bone age. Of course, if you do resist, you'll be automatically disqualified."

The aged man's voice seemed robotic. To be fair to him, he had been tasked with this boring responsibility for a few weeks now.

His only wish was to see out the next few days which will end the quota of days he needed to oversee the entrance trial.

The hooded figure followed his order. Immediately, his eyes widened noticeably as he saw the number that appeared in the orb.

Eighteen?

The man's wrinkled face returned to its previous stone-cold demeanor. 'Another young brat who thinks the Heavenly Celestial Trials is something they can pass easily.'

Writing the number on a card, he gave it to the hooded figure who placed it on her chest.

He had seen many such individuals over the past few weeks, so he didn't waste his time nor the time of those waiting in the line, to try to persuade these 'geniuses'.

Following the direction the old man lazily pointed to, the figure approached a massive circle filled with hundreds of cultivators currently meditating and waiting patiently for the quota to fill.

Smirking slightly, Athena took off her hood. She only needed it to enter the trial. Now that she had entered, even if some annoying lustful men wanted to harass her, they needed to think twice.

She had killed a few hundred people in that waste continent she came from due to this.

They dared harassed her, so she gave them due judgment, only leaving a few who could drive boats through the seemingly infinite waters between this continent and that waste continent.

These people hadn't dared to try any tricks. What could they do in the face of her power that had skyrocketed after he reawakening?

Anyway, those people were the only lucky ones. Because of their natural obedience, she let them live. She wasn't a psychopathic murderer now was she..?

As for the reason she came to this Sect trials, it was because she didn't know where Blade was. She understood very well that he was alive, after all, she heard him speak to her when she was buried.

If she joined this supreme Sect since it was the closest to that damn continent, she may find Blade and even if she didn't find him, she'll become a supreme talent.

Using this Sect's power, she'll eventually find him. 'No matter where you are in this world, I'll find you, never letting you go ever again!' Athena thought with obsession oozing out her eyes.

Her appearance didn't attract too much attention. Everyone who appeared here was here for one goal so the moment they entered this massive circle, they began cultivating.

Even if they weren't able to improve their cultivation in this short time, it was at least useful to prepare their mind for the Willpower test.

Their eyes were closed and they didn't pay any attention to newcomers. Athena found a quiet place to meditate herself. Before she realized it, time flew by incredibly quickly.

...

...

WAA!

With a flash of light, hundreds of figures suddenly appeared in what seemed to be the entrance of a city covered by a mysterious mist. Many figures were present, some had confident faces while others had serious expressions.

Somewhere in the group of one thousand figures was a certain, attention-grabbing female.

Her crimson phoenix-like eyes that contained a cold aura and sharp indifference, sharply curved brows, delicate features, and thin alluring radiant red lips, coupled with her jade-like skin, made it hard for men to keep their eyes away.

The long white hair that draped down her back, reaching her curvaceous wave, was a tantalizing sight that made the blood of male species boil with primal desires, a true demoness had descended no... ascended from hell to earth.

A pity that they were in the presence of the Heavenly Celestial Sect's Elder who was tasked to overlook this trial. Even if they wanted to, they couldn't do anything. Garnering their attention, said Elder began explaining the requirements for this trial.

A few breaths of time later, hundreds of figures transformed into blurs as they rushed into the entrance of the city. A few figures weren't in a rush though, Athena being one of them as she leisurely approached the entrance...

As soon as her feet passed the entrance, her vision blurred. In front of her eyes, the previous city road that was wide enough to fit tens of cars suddenly became an endless desert spewing flames from beneath the sand.

"Break..!"

In an instant, Athena's features darkened. As if seemingly offended by such an obvious illusion, she released her aura, destroying the illusion in an instant.

Her eyes darted around, she was back to the incredibly wide road, and her eyes showed looks of contempt... there were tens of individuals already trapped inside this illusion, seemingly frozen in time!

Her light steps soon stopped. She had seemingly appeared in an interception. With a smirk on her face, she realized this is exactly as described by the elder. The requirement to pass this exam was as simple as one could ask for. A very simple requirement, reach the other side of this city.

The only problem with this requirement is, one needed to remember the directions spoken of by the Elder as with every road that etched closer to the end of this city, the illusion continuously became much stronger.

Anyway, it didn't matter, the past illusion didn't affect her in the least. She remembered clearly what the Elder said as she turned the left corner. Immediately, the illusion assaulted her mind!

'What is this?' Athena thought. In front of her eyes was a massive mountain. Was she supposed to be scared or something?

But, she did find the mountain was weirdly shaped... No, looking up, into the skies, she realized, this was no mountain.

What she viewed as a mountain was a mere toe on what seemed to be the supreme being who destroyed the sun and moon with one hand and extinguished all traces of life in the universe with the other!
