Pseudo Beast Emperor

Standing a few tens of meters away from a group of entities who rushed toward him was a cold and aloof Blade. With a serious expression, his space ring lit up and a katana with a curved blade appeared in his hand.

Spurt! Puchi! Urgh! Argh! Puchi!

The figure in the skies faced hundreds of Martial Grand Masters and Great Grand Masters yet, with utter ease, he zoomed through their defenses.

With a sword in hand, he sliced, slashed, and tore apart any who blocked his path. As the skies turned red from the aura of blood, those below came in contact with rain... A bloody rain!

As the many influential figures in the Bandit Chasm Camp fell, their limbs, lumps of meat, intestines, blood, and matter fell to the surface at the bottom of the chasm.

Unlike when they had just appeared, at this moment, awe, then shock, and finally, utter fear and terror coursed through their minds. Some dropped down on their bosoms while others pissed themselves in fear, their bodies unable to even move.

A minute passed... In one mere minute, the strongest figures of the Bandit Chasm Camp had all fallen to the blade of one masked person. The blood-dripping weapon released a vile aura.

Shifting his gaze to those below, Blade's figure blurred in the eyes of those at the bottom of the chasm as before their brains had time to process what took place.

Boom!

The bottom of the chasm was around two hundred meters long. On that long path, there were many bridges built leading up to the top and it was these bridges that the bandits stood on.

Landing on the ground, Blade was slightly surprised at how sturdy it was to not even cave into a small crater due to the force of his landing. But, his attention was taken away by the ropes that kept the bridges stable.

Slash!

With one slash of his sword, he crossed a massive distance, each time his blurry figure could be seen, it was slashing a rope. Tens of ropes were torn apart before any of the bandits could do anything to stop his actions.

As expected, in an instant, the repercussions of his actions took place. The bridges, without anything to support it was quickly disassembled. Those standing on it who happened to be all of the Bandit Chasm Camp members fell.

Some fell a few feet so it was simple for them to be unharmed but, as the walls of the chasm were hundreds of feet tall, so were the bridges. Those higher up fell to the ground...!

From raining ripped apart limbs and bloodied organs to now raining whole bodies! As these bodies made contact with the ground, needless to say, flesh and blood burst out of the skin of these cultivators.

One minute and ten seconds after appearing in front of their faces, Blade had slaughtered ninety-nine percent of the Bandit Chasm Group. Presently, there were only the weakest of the Bandit Chasm Group who were closest to the bottom level remaining.

They were kneeling on the surface, a surface that had become flooded with blood, flesh, and shattered bones as they were either dazed or begging for mercy.

"Even if I am magnanimous and merciful, how are you going to escape this place?" Saying so, Blade pointed toward the broken bridges and the slashed ropes.

Hearing his words, their hopes weren't distinguished though, after all, they'd find some way to survive. It was just that getting Blade to agree to spare them was the biggest obstacle.

The faces of these people were gloomy but now, after Blade's words, their eyes carried a spark of hope as the twenty or so Bandit Chasm Camp members helped each other to stand to their feet...

"Hmm... But, when did I say you'll be spared?" Blade, seeing their actions was confused. When did he ever say he was going to spare them? He merely asked them how they planned to escape the chasm if he spared them, but it seemed like they misunderstood.

"H-Huh? D-Didn't you say... you'll let us..." Before anyone could question anything, Blade's figure turned into a blur as right after, several heads were detached from their necks, blood spurting to the skies one final time for this night...

[Experience Points: 39,000/25,000]

[Do you wish to upgrade the system?]

'Shouldn't I have much more exp? Or is it that, due to my rise in strength, the amount I gained from those weaker than me has lessened...! Most likely this is the case.' But before Blade could agree to upgrade his system...

Boom!

At the same time, as if timed to perfection, the Bandit Leader's body crashed into the surface a couple tens of feet away from Blade's figure. On his chest, one could see a red spear four meters in length embedded into it.

Slowly landing on the ground with a tap were Athena's feet. Gazing toward Blade, she perceived a slight change in his temperament. Most likely due to the mass slaughter, he had just committed, but there was a bloody killing intent escaping his eyes.

She didn't point this out though. It was quite common for cultivators to have this. In fact, 10,000 wasn't much. There were plenty of those with more perverted numbers in this world.

Walking toward the Bandit Leader, she yanked her sword out, causing him to cough a mouthful of blood as he weakly opened his eyes.

"H-How... We... We're... We're both High-Level... Martial Lords..." Saying this, he coughed another mouthful of blood as his mouth was tainted with the metallic taste.

"No, never. We were never the same. Human Martial Lords aren't comparable to Beast Lords, and those Beast Lords aren't comparable to me. Your death was inevitable!"

Puchi!

With one slash, the head of her spear swiped straight through the Bandit Leader's neck, detaching it swiftly before she turned around to Blade and said.

"I think it'll be good to leave right now. From what this man was saying during our fight, whatever treasure there is here is already taken by a supreme existence." Drawing Blade's attention, she continued.

"It is a supreme existence for someone as ignorant of the world as him, but still, for the current us, this thing isn't something we can go against."

"And why do you think we aren't its opponent?" Blade asked. At the same time, he assessed her words in his mind, already concluding...

'This thing she speaks of should be the hidden existence mentioned by the system! There's no way in hell am I going to miss out on this chance to get 10,000 System points... Plus, there is a treasure in this place better than the Painting of One Thousand Ghosts too.'

"From his words, there seems to be a Beast. I've got a fair idea what level it's at and-...!" Before she could continue, Blade interrupted. "A mere Beast...? And you want to run away!"

"It isn't a mere Beast. According to what he said, the Beast could somewhat communicate with him so it is most likely, a Pseudo Beast Emperor!"

Thrum!

Beast Emperor...! Blade's expression froze. 'Hah... Damn, a Pseudo Beast Emperor would be troublesome. At least it isn't a Beast Emperor, or even worse, a Martial Emperor! From the words of Astral, Martial Emperors are scarier than Beast Emperors after all.'

Pondering on this, he continued analyzing. 'The System shouldn't give me an impossible mission, so it means that there's a chance that I can kill this Beast.' Thinking this, Blade then asked.

"And where exactly is it... Where's the Beast?!" Instantly after, Blade's heart thumped faster as he saw the direction Athena was pointing.

Looking down, the surface was tainted with the blood but, for a Martial Lord, Blade could see past this and see the barely discernable patterns on the ground.

"Sc... Scales!" As soon as he said this, the duo felt the ground shake violently. The walls shook and cracks formed as Blade and Athena jumped to the skies. From above, he could see the whole chasm shaking as if it would soon collapse on itself.

"This... Is it what I think it is..?" Blade mumbled incoherently. "Yes, there's a Beast on the surface of the chasm floors... No, it seems like the chasm floor is the Beast!"

Thrum!!

Yes, all two-hundred meters of the chasm floor was an incredibly large Beast. A Pseudo beast Emperor of the greatest magnitude! In the face of all this, Blade suddenly questioned whether he could really defeat the thing or not...

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

But, before he could process and analyze anything, the mouth of a snake rushed toward the duo. It wasn't just the mouth of a mere snake, but a serpent's mouth multiple times their size!

As if in synch with each other, the heels of Athena and Blade used the other as a foothold as they jumped away. The force not only pushed them back but also pushed the other back too, adding to the speed at which they dodged the incoming mouth.
