Chains
Xiu! Xiu!
Weaving through branches that were each hundred meters large were two figures, Jason and Mia as several beams of light followed behind.
Though the distance between the beams of light and themselves was large, almost several thousand miles, this distance continuously shrank.
"Damn! How can I be chased down like this... Especially by weaklings like them?! That despicable Soulless Sword Leader!" Mia shouted in anger. Her ability to affect one's mind was completely useless due to the Soulless Sword Leader's abilities that also dealt with the mind and soul.
"Don't worry..." Jason's voice entered the surroundings. It was noticeably much softer than when speaking with Asmodeus. Holding the headless corpse of Magnus, oozing out of his left hand was a dark and uncomfortable aura that, though imperceptible, was infinitely close to the aura of death...
"Though we are too injured to display our strength, just like how you used your abilities, I too can manipulate mine." Saying this, Jason's black ocean orbs glowed with a dreadful light.
Uh...
Ugh...
Urgh...!
Crack... Crunch... Boom!
Devastating and unexpected. Out of nowhere, moments after Jason's words landed in his surroundings, a powerful aura radiating the same boundless feeling that came with the aura of a Mortal Transcendent descended into the environment.
The weight of several mountains fell as Mia and Jason's movements came to a sudden halt. The several trees that each stretched out for thousands of meters into the skies exploded upon coming face to face with the sudden appearance of this aura.
Thud!
Landing on its knees and cupping its fists, the grey-skinned and headless Magnus reeled in his aura as he respectfully faced Jason as if he was a slave serving his master. Observing this was Jason who nodded his head approving of these actions.
"So while we heal, this fellow of the Limitless Sky Sect will help hold those Mortal Transcendents down as though they are Mortal Transcendents, they aren't the match for an Overseer." Jason conveyed to Mia while a crimson space ring, previously transparent and unseen, appeared on his finger.
"No wonder the Boss focused solely on killing one person first during our escape. I thought she simply didn't like this poor guy... Well, his luck is still a little shitty." Mia chirped in. She had a dazzling smile on her face as a crimson ring also appeared on her finger.
Just at this moment, Jason and Mia realized something. Both of their figures were illuminated by several multi-colored lights that were rapidly descending from the skies!
Ka-Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!...
A flurry of explosions occurred. As the dust and smoke dissipated, in several newly appearing craters, humanoid figures took form. Each radiated a powerful and bottomless Mortal Transcendent aura directly aimed at the duo...
The said duo, in the face of these Mortal Transcendents, merely turned their backs and walked away from this location, much to the surprise of their pursuers.
"Frightened?" One of them teased. But, before he could continue, the grey-skinned headless being that the Mortal Transcendents overlooked due to his lack of aura, disappeared...
"Huh-?!"
Fwoosh!
A Mortal Transcendent disappeared. Simultaneously, several tens of meters away, Jason and Mia sat down in a meditative position, completely ignoring those pursuers of theirs, as appearing in the palms of their hands were several pills that released splendorous scents that permeated the air.
Swallowing these pills, an instant change began taking place in their bodies. The wounds began healing at a visible rate.
"In a couple of hours, we should be good to go. Then, we can kill these idiots and go help the Boss." Mia had an excited gleam in her eyes saying this as her bloodlust rose.
"Not really. I'm sure my little puppet can get rid of these cretins whereas, the Boss doesn't need any help as I'm sure, in a couple of hours, this world would already be ours!" Jason confidently retorted.

Shing! Fwoosh!
With one swipe, the clouds parted. The green sun hanging in the skies came into full view and the several figures whizzing through the skies were now observable.
Countless tons of force were infused into a spear that traveled at a speed that transcended sound and through the azure skies and toward a singular figure on the receiving end of several attacks.
Beams of energy, several weapons, mysterious winds, all these types of attacks rushed toward Asmodeus who remained with a pair of emotionless eyes as her two palms outstretched, her hands waving in the air as with utter splendor, illusions took place making it seem like Asmodeus had several hands...
A mysterious aura escaped her body as these illusionary palms shot out toward the incoming attacks, and whether they be beams of energy, mysterious winds, or weaponry attacks, they were all pulverized in their wake.
Xiu!
The surroundings behind Asmodeus turned dark. As if the concept of light had been negated, jumping out of this darkness was a young man with black hair and a black sword that released bursts of black aura.
Swiping his sword toward Asmodeus's neck, Astral watched on, his eyes still blackened and his face expressionless as if possessed by a demon whilst he detached Asmodeus's head from her neck only for the headless body and her head to slowly turn transparent.
Bam!
Her movements to appear behind Astral were soo quick that she left an afterimage soo realistic that it was practically impossible to see any difference between it and her real body.
A delicate palm struck outward from her and rushed to Astral's unprotected back with enough power that it caused the space to shatter instantly.
Crunch!
Like glass, the skies fell apart and opened the void layers beyond. Immediately thereafter, the surroundings of Astral and Asmodeus changed, becoming utterly black.
Reacting instantly, Astral spun around, swinging his sword, spewing out dark light that collided with the incoming palm. The collision released a shockwave that quite literally shattered the void itself as the duo reappeared in the bright azure skies of the Green Star World...
BOOM!
Reappearing in the real world, their appearance sent waves of force that traveled throughout an expansive distance. Tens, hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands of miles were destroyed by the boundless force of the said collision.
If not for the fact that it originated inside the void, the destruction would have been oh so greater as merely in a hundred thousand miles surrounding, a barren land lay.
Compared to the parts of the Heavenly Celestial Continent that the shockwave didn't reach, this hundred thousand miles surrounding was several tens of miles lower than normal, reaching into the depths of the earth.
"Humph!"
Astral snorted. Making a distance between himself and Asmodeus, he gazed at his trembling hands that held the black demonic sword.
As the Soulless Sword Leader and the Godly Jade Empire clashed with Asmodeus, the other Overseer of the Limitless Sky Sect used a special technique to calculate the next course of action, guiding the two clashing with Asmodeus.
Solely due to her ability to peer into the past and future, more importantly, the future, it was only due to this that the strongest of Mortal Transcendents like the Heavenly Celestial and Soulless Sword Leader could stand up to Asmodeus in the clashes upon following her guidance.
And like how she helped this way, the other Mortal Transcendents who weren't strong enough to survive a few clashes with Asmodeus found ways to help. Descending from above Asmodeus were several black chains.
An invisible aura covered these chains. The Overseers of the Heavenly Celestial Sect worked together as one sent these mysterious chains and the other hid them from Asmodeus's perception.
Upon coming in contact with Asmodeus, it couldn't be hidden. Whilst dodging the Godly Jade Emperor's fist and parrying the Soulless Sword Leader's sword strike with a dagger, Asmodeus perceived this black chain that wrapped around her arms, legs, and waist...
"Hmm..."
Squinting her eyes, she distanced herself looking to rid herself of these chains only to realize that they seemed to seep into her clothes and skin!
Eh!
Asmodeus let out a surprised yelp as her vision warped. From afar, one can see that Asmodeus had reappeared in the exact location that she had just made a distance from to escape the Soulless Sword Leader and the Godly Jade Emperor who seemingly expected this and had already released their own attacks...
"Seventy-Two Soulless Stabs!"
"World Abominable Fist!"
BOOM!
In this instance, the sun disappeared, and the azure skies became golden. The golden skies produced a large golden fist that fell onto Asmodeus's body.
"Humph!"
Asmodeus harrumphed upon seeing the golden fist descending from the skies. In front of her, seventy-two transparent swords that radiated with a peculiar radiance rushed toward different parts of her body.
In the eyes of the Soulless Sword Leader, she saw seventy-two different locations in Asmodeus's body that were possible weaknesses.
Each of the seventy-two illusionary swords rushed toward these places. This attack immediately collided with Asmodeus's body and even though she tried to dodge, most of the attacks landed as her body was sent hurdling into the skies...
Asmodeus's body was sent hurdling into the same skies where a massive golden fist descended, enshrouding her body as the collision between the two released an ear-deafening explosion...!
