"AH DAD!" I woke up from a nightmare about my dad. After he was killed the bad men moved me to a small training field outside the walls.


'I've been here for about a day, but it feels like a month.' I thought they make us run 20 laps around the village, 50 burpees, and 100 push-ups. We didn't sleep till 2am but we have role call at 6am.


I got out of bed to get dressed I look around to to see 12 bunk beds with no one sleeping. I quickly realized I'm late I quickly get dressed in my training uniform, and run to a small opening with 22 other children with some walls being constructed. They where all in a line so I slowly sneak into the line trying not to get noticed, but that quickly failed.


"PRIVATE ELI, YOUR LATE!" I was yelled at by our drill Sargent. Who was like the soldiers, but had a blue feather instead of a red.


"SORRY DRILL SARGENT SIR!" I yelled back. He quickly sneered and said something that was gross.


"If you had trouble sleeping last night, private, whatever you do, don't think about the fact that your parents are probably having sex in your old bedroom because your water-headed ass is finally gone." He said smiling. I was frowning though because it filled me with disgust and sadness 


"Alright Margot's today where going to be…"everything went blank as my mind started to wander. I thought about how my mom died due to a sickness leaving me and dad alone. He took great care of me for 6 years, but then died to that hooded figure with the green daggers.


I wanted vengeance but also the life my dad wanted for me. A life of hope where are race isn't being farmed by the ant kingdom. A life of  all spices living together, and peace between all.


I remember the time when me and my dad used to go outside the walls, and look at the stars. It was gorgeous, but that changed when the new lord took over. That hooded man killed my dad, and I just stood there.


That man I wanted to kill so bad. to do that I need to be stronger, and to do that I need to train and fight other opponents. So I will train under these men, climb the ranks, and kill that man.


"ELI, GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS, AND DROP AND GIVE ME 50!!" The drill Sargent yelled.


"YES SIR!" I yelled back and quickly got down to do push-ups. Everyone else was looking at me with sly smiles.


'For now I must endure this embarrassment." I thought.
