He is a weird man!

I, Delphine McNair, am currently walking through the enemy territory. Something like this normally impossible but my mother has brought me here along with my maid Sasha.

It's evening so not a lot of people are out. My mother did cast perception blocking magic on us. They can't see us anyway.

"Mother, where are we going?"

"To see the person who was rude enough to abduct you in your sleep."

She apathetically says. But I think she is somewhat angry. And after walking for a while, we stop in front of a house. It's a normal stone house.

Mother knocks on the door and a woman opens the door. She has blonde hair and a beautiful face. She looks around my mother's age.

"Yes, how may I help you?"

She asks us. But what will mother say to her? Before my mother says something, a man comes and stands behind the blonde woman.

"Fiona, I will take it from here."

He says and the woman goes inside.

"I didn't think you would come here, demon king. So, why did you come here?"

He asks me. He knows who I am and isn't intimidated by me. Sasha is hissing behind me but my mother has not moved.

I gather a few words in my head and as I was about to say it, my mother punched that man.

A punch which could break a thick castle wall was unleashed. But that guy didn't even flinch. He looks at her hand. I look as well and see that her hand is distorted.

"Don't pull such stunts."

He has an irritated face. But he touched my mother's hand and her hand is back to normal.

"Who are you?"

"I am Clive Belmont. And you are the mother of the current demon king, Dahlia McNair. You are hailed as the crazy berserker woman by some." (Clive)

He introduced himself and my mother. How does he know her? No, who is this guy?

"It's rude of me to keep you three waiting outside. Come in, don't worry. I won't harm you." (Clive)

He moves and opens a path for us. My mother enters and we followed her. Sasha has not spoken a word since the door was opened.

He leads us to a place which is probably the hall room. I see sofas. We take our seats.

"I know this might be weird but welcome. This isn't my house though." (Clive)

He says and a small girl sits on his lap. She has small round ears on her head. Maybe a bearkin.

"This is my daughter, Eden Belmont." (Clive)

The little girl greets us. He even has a daughter. He doesn't seem that old. Maybe he is older than he looks.

"I'll get straight to the point. You are here to ask me why did I summon Delphine that night, aren't you?" (Clive)

He knew my name even before we had met. Should I be at awe or be scared?

"Yes, there's that but I want to know, what do you want to do?" (Mother)

"Well, I am a peace loving person. I love peace. But whenever I wanted peace, only chaos followed. So I thought why not try to bring chaos? And peace followed. You see, I don't have any goals. I just want to live peacefully with my family." (Clive)

He is saying that he loves peace but he can't find peace. I think I know what he is trying to say. But what does that have to do with me?

"I didn't get my answer though. Why did you summon my daughter?" (Mother)

"I was introducing her to the summoned hero. He was spouting nonsense like killing her and saving the world." (Clive)

"And you summoned an unconscious and vulnerable Delphine just to introduce her. Are you sure you don't want me to kill you?" (Mother)

"Hey now, that's a scary face. I can feel your anger. Don't worry, I know that before Delphine, they have to take care of you. Only one of the summoned heroes can actually beat you. So yeah, I am trying to stop this nonsense of a war." (Clive)

Mother and Clive are having a heated conversation. But I hadn't noticed that a small figure had taken a seat beside me. It's the girl Clive introduced as his daughter.

"What is your name?"

She asks me. Did she not hear my name?

"I am Eden Belmont. Papa always says that it's polite to introduce yourself before asking for a name."

She is polite. And she seems mature for her age.

"My name is Delphine McNair. It's nice to meet you, Eden. You have a nice a name. It suits you."

"Papa gave me my name. Why don't we go somewhere else? Looks like they will take a while." (Eden)

I look at them. Seems like they are arguing about something. I am pretty bored myself. So she takes me to her room. It's full of books.

"Do you like books?"

"Papa says that knowledge is the best weapon. It's the only thing that won't betray me. That's why I read lots of books to gather knowledge." (Eden)

She gives me a book about magical beasts. It has a lot of information on magical beasts and it also shows some rare magic beasts.

We both read a few books before I started asking her a few questions.

"Eden, are you from another world as well?"

"Yes. I was born on Earth. It's a blue planet which has seen its fair share of war and bloodshed." (Eden)

"So you are from another world! Do species other than humans live there?"

"No. There were no signs of other species aside from humans. Humans were the rulers of earth. Various folk lores existed about demons, elves, spirits and other demi-humans but they did not exist nor were they mentioned in history." (Eden)

Eden gave me a long explanation. But it seems that demi-humans didn't exist in another world. Then how was Eden born?

"Then are you not a demi-human?"

"I am. But papa made me this way. I was just a normal bear cub before meeting papa. Of course my mama is with him as well." (Eden)

Clive made her that way? How can you make an animal into a demi-human?

"Tell me a bit about your papa?"

"Papa's name is Clive Belmont. He is a harbinger who governs death. At first he might seem unapproachable and kinda weird, he is a good person at heart. He always tells me stories and teaches me many things.

Whenever we go out, he would put me on his shoulders. Although he is a bit awkward at times, he doesn't mean any harm." (Eden)

She is very fond of her papa. Listening to her, I remembered my father. He was indeed a very busy man but he would play with me whenever he had free time. I am kinda sad now that he is dead.

But this Clive person is still shrouded in mysteries. We go to the hall room to check on things but it seems that mother is having fun.

She is arm wrestling with a woman. She seems to be an older version of Eden.

"Is she your mama, Eden?"

"Yes. It's the first time mama is having so much fun." (Eden)

I see another person by their side. She has dog like ears and tail. Is she the referee? This house is weird. I can see demi-humans along with otherworlders. Isn't this supposed to be a human supremacist country?

I try to find Clive but he isn't there. I look around when I someone called out to me.

"If you are looking for Clive, he is in his singularity."

I was a bit startled. I look behind and find another woman. She resembles the person who first opened the door.

"I am pretty sure you are very confused. I can understand your feeling. Just sit down and don't think too much of it. Clive is a weird man."

I was at a loss as to what to reply. But Eden who was with me replied.

"Big sis Fay, papa is not a weird man." (Eden)

"I know. But she doesn't know yet so he is a weird man to her. By the way, my name is Fay Adams." (Fay)

She gave me her name and we shook hands. After that, we all sat down at the dining table and Clive popped out of nowhere. We were invited for dinner and mother took the offer. I was wondering what Sasha was doing but she was actually in the kitchen.

Seems like everyone has accepted the situation but to me, Clive is still a very weird man.
