After coming back, I dropped general Louis and Trevor at the castle. I did want to meet Gwen but she told me not to. She already knew that I was there but she was meditating. She didn't want me to disturb her. Besides, our
I left the castle with Aldo. It's evening. The sky is dyed yellow. I have never seen the sky turn red here. Must be an atmospheric thing. There are people on the street. I don't pay much attention to them.
But Aldo pulls on my sleeve.
"What is it?"
"Master, I want a book." (Aldo)
"A book? What type of book?"
This is rare. He wants a book! Let's see.
"I have seen Eden reading a lot of difficult books. I tried reading them but I cannot recognize the characters. So I want to learn how to read and write." (Aldo)
Eden reading difficult books? Ahh…my books. I used to have books on a variety of subjects. It included science and medicine, fiction, literature, plays and dramas. I didn't read poetry much but I was rather fond of science fictions.
Eden must have been reading one of those. But those are all written in English. I am not sure if Aldo would need to learn English.
"Eden reads my books. Those books are written in my native tongue. So you would not recognize it. I will think of a way for you to read them. But for now, let's focus on your education a bit."
He nods his head. Most of the time, he is just a normal kid. He doesn't seem too rowdy and is actually observant. He will become better at anything he does in the future.
I need some teaching materials. Let's head to Ms. Pablo. I think she can do something about it.
I take Aldo and go to Ms. Pablo's shop. On the way, we passed by the guild. There were a lot of people in front of it. Maybe something had happened. I don't know. And I haven't been summoned so I won't try to get involved.
When I enter, I see Ms. Pablo talking to a butler like person. He leaves soon and we go to her.
"Good evening, Ms. Pablo."
"Good evening, Mr. Belmont. What can I do for you today?" (Montana)
"I was hoping to find some books. Do you deal in them?"
"Books, an unusual request but I do have some connections that would allow me to do so. What type of book are you looking for you?" (Montana)
"Something for children. To teach them basic reading and writing. It can be anything as long as I can use it."
She is pondering. Is it a bad request?
"Books are normally pricey and rare. Especially published books. So they are rented, not sold. I would try to get a hold of a few books in the meantime. I hope you will give me some time." (Montana)
"I think that should be enough. I forgot that this world is currently at that level only. It seems that I will have to brute force it a bit."

I was about to leave but Ms. Pablo looked like she had a question.
"Do you have something to ask me?"
"Earlier you said this world. What exactly do you mean by that? And you are ordering books so casually like you own a lot of them anyway." (Montana)
"Well, I do in fact own a lot of books. I think I currently have 130 books with me. They are all printed and published books. And for your former question, I will answer it. It's not like I was hiding it anyway."
She gulps. Aldo is looking at me like I said something unbelievable. Is having more than a hundred books that weird? I had a lot of books to buy but couldn't buy them. I have more books on my phone as well.
But I haven't used my phone since coming here. So they are just sitting in my drive.
"I originally come from a different world. Your kingdom came knocking on my door and I answered. That's all."
"I knew it. The way you carry yourself, your common sense, your monetary policy, your behavior, your outfits, none of that matches with this world. So you come from a different world.
Then your companions? Are they also from your world? Then how did you meet Fay?" (Montana)
"That's a long story. How about you come to visit Fiona one day? We can have a good chat. But wait, I invited you to Fiona's house. Is that even okay?"
I was thinking when she chuckled a bit.
"I don't think Fiona would mind." (Montana)
"I do mind. I have tried to talk to her about this 2 times before. But every time she would pressure me into staying at her house. I couldn't win against her. I have money. I can buy a house for myself. But she wouldn't let me."
I voice my dissatisfaction. That is a topic which gives me heartburn.
"She always liked companions. I think you all staying at her house is making her happy. She seems more spirited than before so she isn't angry or anything. She is just happy." (Montana)
"Still, I started living on my own when I was 16. I earned on my own and paid for myself. So staying at someone else's house, it just feels weird."
We were talking about a lot of things. But Aldo was getting bored so I bade my farewell to Ms. Pablo.
And we arrive at home. Opening the door, I saw Alyssa waiting at the door front.
"Alyssa, why are you standing here?" (Aldo)
"I sensed big brother coming so I am here to welcome you. Welcome back, big brother, master." (Alyssa)
I didn't think too much of it and just smiled at her saying, "I am back."
But Aldo is staring at her. What's wrong? Then I remember, she said she sensed us.
Does that mean she has awakened her mana?
I do a little appraisal and yeah, she has indeed awakened her mana. Her magic isn't elemental. It's more of a sensory type.
Another good one. She even sensed me, probably. She didn't explicitly mention it. I will have to ask her later. For now, let's go inside.
"You were feeling a bit nervous around noon. What's happening?" (Aura)
"I felt it too. Master, you were nervous, anxious, disgusted and angry at the same time. Did something happen?" (Hazel)
I take a seat on the single sofa and start telling them my experience. Tri-von-Gu, the exercise session with general Louis and Trevor, the harbinger of space, I told them everything.

Samantha comes downstairs and says that.
"A tricky one? Is the harbinger of space a tricky one?"
"Very. That one is one of the remaining two first generation harbingers. Everyone else is either dead or retired. So he has a ton of experience and a lot of subordinates under him." (Samantha)

So he is the cautious type. He values his preservation the most. That's kind of relieving to hear.
I was about to start with my experiments when there was a knock on the door.

Fay came out of the kitchen and goes to open the door. If you were in the kitchen, you could have just let us open it.
But she comes back and tells me to go. Apparently it's for me. Who could come for me?
I go to the door, a bit confused. A man was standing. He has a guild emblem on his dress.
"Mr. Clive Belmont?"
"Yes. What can I do for you?"
"This is from the guild master. He said to deliver it to you."
I take the envelope and open it. It says that I have been nominated for an S rank job. I can choose to decline it but I must take 2 out of 3 jobs or I would be demoted.
It doesn't specify a reporting time so I will go in the morning.
"I'll report to him tomorrow morning."
"I will relay this to the guild master."
He says and swiftly leaves. I take another look. The job in question is drake subjugation. Whatever that is, I will do it. Let's see how tough are these S rank jobs.
