Captive of fate

(Samantha POV)

Clive is currently at Galdur. I haven't met with him for a few days due to some issues on my part. I was about to go and meet him. But I can't find him anywhere.

When I checked, his body is at Galdur. He's currently sleeping. But I know. That body is just a mimic. It's a dummy body which will hold his place for a very short time.

But where is he? Why is a body mimic is there? I look for him. He isn't on Jupiter. No one has felt his disappearance. That's because he is technically still sleeping.

I scour the entire galaxy looking for him. But I can't find him. I start looking everywhere. But to no avail. He isn't in this entire system.

Where did he go? His priestesses haven't noticed it either. That's because his existence itself isn't gone. So where is he?

I can't contact him either. That's not possible. I have a direct link with him. That link can't be canceled. Clive can't cancel that. I will not cancel it.

Then it came to me. Clive said that my brother had contacted him in his dream. There's no way but a slight possibility remains.

I start looking for my brother. He should be in his room.

"Where are you going?"

"Where is my brother?"

My mother asks me. But I need to know where that useless piece of trash is.

"He is in his room."

I leave that place and head straight to his room. It's locked. But the lock is so shoddy that it break with just a bit of pressure.

"You have killed a dark terror. You have earned a reward."

He is saying while reading a script. He hasn't noticed me yet.

"For killing a dark terror on your first try without dying, you are granted a special reward."

A backpack disappeared along with a few cooking utensils and seasonings. After that he puts down his script and sighs.

But he noticed me and froze up. I must have had a terrifying face. Because he started sweating buckets.

"What are you doing?"

"..no..not…nothing…"

"Answer me honestly."

"I was just playing a bit."

He is shaking like crazy but I am equally mad at him. But I calm down. It won't do any good to just beat him up. I have to listen to his excuse as well.

"Where have you sent Clive? Don't even try to deny it. I know you are behind it."

He is looking around nervously. But I go near him and put more pressure on him. As his elder sister, I have a duty.

"I just wanted to test him. So I sent him to that place. You know, the little ruined world."

My mind took some time to process this information. The little ruined world? The moment I realized it, I slapped him. As hard as I could.

He was launched into the air and crashed in his bookshelf. He is holding his right cheek and looking at me. He is frightened.

"How can you send him there? That place is a cursed place. No power works there. He is nothing but a normal human now. Do you think he can survive there?"

I have totally lost my temper. I don't remember much after that. But apparently, I was strangling him. That's what my mother told me.

I am currently detained in my room. It seems that my family has finally found out about Clive.

My dad suddenly enters my room. He didn't even bother knocking. Who enters their teenage daughter's room without knocking?

"You were acting strangely for some time. Did you think that I wouldn't notice it? Since when were you in contact with a human?"

So they have really found out about Clive.

"Why aren't you answering me? Since when were you in contact with that human?"

He bangs his hand on the table. The table broke.

"For some time. What will you do?"

"Trying to act tough, I see? No matter. You are grounded from here on out. Your wedding date has been fixed. If you take a step out of this room, you will face the consequences."

He shouts and angrily leaves. So, the date has been fixed.

It means that my time with Clive is over. It wasn't very long but it was enjoyable. He gave me quite the headache despite me being a transcendent.

It makes me sad that I won't be able to talk to him anymore. I was trying to make him strong enough to take me away from here. But I guess, my plans are now ruined.

It wasn't anything special at first. I was just trying escape my reality by watching the humans. But I found an unusual human. He possessed the quality of a harbinger.

So I made him one. He exceeded my expectations. So I wanted to try it. I wanted to believe that he could have saved me from my fate.

Alas! It didn't go as planned. Will he remember me? Will me miss me? Considering his personality, he would probably forget me.

I guess, this is it. I wanted to try one last time to escape from the shackles of arranged marriage. But I couldn't. I can't even say goodbye to them.

I couldn't even tell him my real name. Although, I planned on throwing away that name if I was successful in my endeavor.

Samantha just sits on her bed with her head down. Silent tears are falling down. This isn't her usual carefree attitude. She is truly grieving. But her chances aren't zero. Because her younger brother is doing something.

Clive on the other hand is enjoying his survival life. What will he do once he finds out about this?
