Chapter 122 : Movie’s reaction + Prelude.

The movie started with the bot fight scene. The change Hiro displayed as he hustled the guy and showed the capability of his super bot had impressed the big brains – Tony, Peter, and Bruce.

And… Hiro and Tadashi get caught.

Tony chuckled. He didn't expect that. "Why show all the running scenes if they are going to get caught anyway?" He muttered as he became amused. The movie is unpredictable, and it greatly draws him in. He didn't care for animated movies – never did. This might be the first animated movie that aroused his interest.

Tadashi : [When will you do something with that big brain of yours?]

Hiro: [ What? Go to college like you? So people can tell me things I already know?]

Peter is hooked on the screen. He didn't know why, but Tadashi reminded him of a certain nosy brother that always drags him around. For him, Tadashi and Hiro are almost like him and Ryan.

Tony is munching popcorn as he watches the brotherly love between Tadashi and Hiro. At first, he thought that the child is an awkward and shy kid, but after Hiro hustled the big man during his robot battle, he related quite strongly to the character.

Tadashi is bringing Hiro to his college instead of the bot fight as he wanted to pick something up. It is an excuse for Tadashi to show Hiro what he is doing there.

There, Hiro meets Tadashi's friends. Gogo Tomago, Honey Lemon, Wasabi, and Fred. He also brings Hiro to meet Baymax.

"Holy sh*t," Tony exclaimed, making Bruce glance at him.

"What?" Bruce asked.

"That kid…he showed…the tech's secrets…" Tony whispered. Electro-mag suspension, laser-induced plasma, chemical embrittlement, and Baymax. Ryan didn't explain in detail in the movie, but he did crack all of the tech shown on the screen. Some tech he didn't show to the world just yet.

Tony's heart is beating rapidly for a while before it calms down. At the very least the kid didn't show the data…right?

Khan is staring at the screen with a deadly glare as Fred comes out. "I am going to kill him," she muttered.

Betty Ross is focusing on Honey Lemon and ignoring Khan beside her. "I am not THAT tall."

"What?" Banner asks as Betty is mumbling something. Why did people keep exclaiming among themselves? Isn't this a kids' movie?

"Nothing," Betty dismisses her boyfriend and focuses on the movie.

When Gogo comes out, Stark and Bruce looked at each other without planning and chuckle. She is really similar to a certain someone they know.

"So that is Aunt Cass," Aunt May muttered after seeing the boy's guardian in the movie. Aunt Cass r34 will thrive quickly, one week after the movie started. The good feeling she has been compared to the character will be gone by then.

During the screening, on the premiere red carpet. A disabled veteran is carrying a briefcase containing a certain virus that he is going to inject inside his body. There is a high chance it will cause an explosion as it kills him, and he is fine with the risk.

However, he is hesitating when he walks to the theatre area and finds out about the event there.

"I don't mind killing Stark…but…"

Inside, there is Tim and the others from the Knight industry. He looked at his legs which were lost when he stepped on a landmine. Because Ryan had fought off the military, the latter had to pay compensation to the disabled veterans and he got the prosthetic legs for basically free.

"Not today…not…ever…"

The veteran decided to not go through with Aldritch Killian's plan of terrorizing the United States and betraying the group – going into hiding. The United States owed him a debt that needs to be repaid, but he owed a debt to a certain young kid who had been fighting hard to help those in need.

Killian will be puzzled as to why the scene he wanted didn't happen. He already planned to debut the Mandarin at the event. Now, he has to delay it and go find the missing veteran instead – lest he leaked his plan and the Extremis virus to an important person. The plan had to be pushed back a couple of months just because one person's consciousness decided to tell him what he is doing is not right.

"Wait, he didn't do it? So why are we here?" Yelena asked as she bit off an apple, dressed in her Oni outfits.  She is standing on a rooftop nearby, with a shielding device Ryan created.

"I don't know. Should we ask Ryan?" Park Shin is watching the veteran using a binocular at the moment – also dressed in the Oni outfit.

"No… he is busy. We will follow the walking bomb," Yelena said as she throws the apple away.

"You just don't want to talk to him," Park Shin said mockingly. She catches Yelena with red eyes and tears marks on her face a month ago after a certain someone announces his engagements.

"NOooo... Shut up," Yelena ordered sternly as the both of them disappeared from the rooftop.

Back to the movie.

Tadashi : [ Someone has to help]

The convention building is on fire. Professor Callaghan is still inside the building. People are not speaking in the theatre as they get a bad feeling inside their chest.

An explosion occurred after Tadashi ran inside the hall. Hiro is calling out to his brother and the screen fades.

" Did he…" Ned mumbles. Tadashi is his favorite character. It couldn't be…right?

Peter is tearing up as the funeral for Tadashi is ongoing. Tony felt discomfort in his chest as the scene reminded him of the man who helped him inside the cave, and the young kid who already helped people at the cost of his life…twice.

Big Hero 6 is a story of grief. We need support from our family and friends during trying times. That is why Ryan decided to push forward the movie premiere.

The movie ended after making the audience go through a rollercoaster of emotions. It will be talked about by many people until Ryan decides to show the next movie.

The story reaches its climax when they find out the man in the Kabuki mask is Professor Callaghan. Hiro decided to destroy the villain and take revenge for his brother instead of doing the right thing. At that moment, the legacy of his brother is thrown away by him, leaving Baymax a murderous robot instead.

"Doesn't this remind you of something?" Tony whispered to Bruce.

"Shut up," Bruce snorted and his eyes turned a little bit green, making Tony shut his mouth until the end. Bruce is sick of Tony who keeps talking during the movie.

Seeing Baymax's imposing figure, Tony did get an idea for a big suit – a special design to go against the Hulk. But he will need Banner's help to do this.

The final battle comes after Hiro was shown Tadashi's wish for Baymax – he wants Baymax to help a lot of people.

The portal in the sky is sucking up Krei's newly made campus. J.Jonah Jameson, who was invited to the premiere, is furiously writing down the key points for an article he is writing about the movie and its connection to the New York War.

For Tony, he didn't care much about the battle. He did, however, resonate with Baymax's sacrifice in the alternate dimension. Baymax had given his chips to Hiro as he stayed behind.

Tony felt like Ryan was trying to tell him something using this scene. 'Baymax's life is in his hands. Literally. The chips are inside the palm of the suit that Baymax uses to save Hiro's life. But that's about it. That is the end of his control.'

Tony closes his eyes as he touches the arc reactor on his chest. He had been postponing the surgery for a long time because he couldn't face his mortality.

' I never thought that I would find the answer in a children's movie,' Tony chuckled to himself as the end credit scene appeared.

He needed to entrust himself to another for him to get better. He didn't think he could do it before this. But now, his mindset is wavering. He felt that he was ready for it. For him to get better.

"Well the kid needs to come back for me to do it though," Tony mumbles to himself. Ryan and Kai both need to be there for the surgery.

As he is walking out of the theatre, he is wondering what is going on with Kai's situation. *Ding* Jarvis alerted Tony to something, making him check his phone instead of posing for the cameras and telling his review for the movie to the reporter.

His eyes widened as he read the notification. "Jarvis, activate Mark 7."

A rectangular box flies toward the red carpet area and the Iron Suit was equipped by Tony. He flew urgently toward Hell's Kitchen to help.

The same night, before the screening.

At a random bar, ten blocks away from Kai's clinic and house.

"Murdock, I am sorry you have to meet me here."

Kai welcomed the lawyer with sunglasses and a walking stick to his table. He poured the most expensive drink on the bar into the lawyer's glass as he sat down.

"I don't mind. Besides, I don't want to get my hair pulled," Matt insinuated the incident that falls to Skye. The lawyer knows that there is a reason to sue, but the old lady is 80 years old, a scared and senile woman.

"How is Skye? And your other daughter?" Matt asked politely.

"I already sent them someplace else. I will be gone for a while, so I need to handle some matters before I leave."

Matt becomes solemn. Even he didn't know what to do with the crowd camping around Kai's place. There isn't a legal reason that he searched to allow Kai to get rid of them. And he searched very hard for it.

"That is good. Will you come back?" Matt asked as he took some documents for Kai to sign. It gave Matt the right to handle Kai's property and assets on his behalf of him when he is gone. He doesn't think that this is goodbye, but to separate from a good friend always hurts.

"I am not sure yet. If the situation eases, then maybe. I will come to New York frequently though. I still have clients here."

He has already moved all of his stuff to the island. Skye and Doreen are now meeting the islander. Nina and Lana are hired by Ryan at his pharmaceutical company as the clinic will be closed. Domingo cried a little, but he understood Kai's decision.

At the same time Kai is meeting with Matt, a group of sexy nuns is breaking into his empty house.

They are looking around the place, searching for traces of Kai.

"Have he run away?" Maria Laveau muttered as she looked around the abandoned place.

"JINA," Maria yelled, calling one of the virgin nuns that were part of the group.

The nun approached Maria with fanaticism in her eyes. All of the other nuns have the same look in their eyes. From the moment they entered the house, it felt like they had entered a holy place rid of sin. (Hellgate companion beast - burn sins with the fire)

The belief that Kai is truly an angel had sprouted rapidly inside these brainwashed girls, and they will do anything to bring Kai back to the place he was supposed to be – their Silver Dagger temple.

Maria rips off Jina's clothing, revealing her lingerie and the garter belt on her tight that carries 10 daggers. Jina laid obediently on the floor, and Maria dripped a vial of blood on her belly.

The other nuns light up a red candle for the seance, and encircle Jina's body.

In the 1800s, Maria was a voodoo sorceress that used her power to gather wealth for her family. Being a lone aboriginal, Voodoo was the only way for her to survive in the colonist era. She had a daughter and a son, but then the Vatican came to judge her.

Captured by the Vatican, her family is killed – her son and daughter are burned on the cross. She vowed revenge, no matter how long it takes. She captures a vampire and uses them as a material to prolong her lifespan. In the early 1900s, she almost got her revenge, if not for the Ancient One and Isaiah Curwen.

The Ancient One didn't participate directly, but Isaiah had learned sanctum magic through a magic exchange before this. Maria, using demons in her army, also alerted the Kamar-Taj sorcerers to come and help.

After her downfall, Isaiah Curwen didn't kill her. Instead, he enslaved her using dark magic and brainwashed her to be loyal to the Silver Dagger, an organization Isaiah established when he heard the prophecy that god told him. Not the pope, other cardinals, or holy maidens – just him.

That is when Isaiah started to cross the line in his religious teaching, doing whatever was necessary to prevent the prophecy from coming true.

"I offered to you…Shiklah…the untarnished body of a virgin…in return for your help…"

Maria chanted an incantation, and Jina's body started to hover. The candlelight starts to flicker. Her mission is to bring Kai back to the Vatican tonight. She will do whatever is necessary to complete her mission.

At the bar, Kai and Matt are joined by a muscular blonde man with blue eyes.

"Steve, you're moving to Washington next week right?" Kai asked the newcomer.

"Yes. It is near the Triskelion building. I won't have to commute as much," Steve Rogers in a training suit said. When he is needed for a mission, a helicopter or a quinjet will come to pick him up. It will be easier for him to just stay there.

"You know, I will miss your liquor," Steve said as he drank the alcohol with the highest concentration there, but it felt like he was drinking some water.

"That is all I am for you? An alcohol vending machine?" Kai teases.

The trio is talking for a while. Kai caught Steve's glances as he poured a drink for himself. Steve wanted to talk alone, presumably something private.

"Why don't I go send these documents to my place first, then I will come back," Matt said as he was reading the atmosphere. Steve felt a little bad – did Matt catch him giving glances to Kai?

Matt stands up and takes out his folded walking stick. He let the sticks rearrange themselves into his guiding stick by letting it fall and pulling the rope that connected them.

Steve widens his eyes as he finally realizes that Matt is blind.

"You're…"

"Handsome? I know right…"

Matt teases the honest man and walks away after promising he will come back.

Steve takes out a letter and puts it on the table.

"I…got a letter from… Peggy…" Steve said with difficulty. It is hard to talk about this kind of stuff with anyone else, but Kai is an exception. The doctor can always see through him, making Steve feel useless in hiding anything – also glad that someone can understand him.

Kai read the letter, "So… are you going to meet her?"

"Do you know what scared me the most? ….The knowledge that, someday, years down the line, there would come a time when her absence would feel like the norm. When I would resign myself to losing her. Then, my life, the life that I accepted as real would be the one without her in it. And now, that is my reality…"

Right now, Steve is alone in the world. The chitauri, the mission he is throwing himself into – all of it is distractions. For him to escape the reality that he had woken up 70 years in the future.  If he goes and meets Peggy, the long escape from reality that he is going through right now will be real.
