Chapter 13: I Forgot My Bff?!

*Serene POV*

I made my way back to the set and approached Damon. He seemed annoyed, but not as upset as me.

"Damon, are you alright?" I asked.

"I’ll be fine," he admitted, massaging his temples as if a migraine was forming.

"I just fired Rufus," I confessed plainly. His eyes dilated in shock, but then quickly a grin formed.

"You’re alienating yourself from everyone in the business," he professed, but he didn’t seem to think it was necessarily negative.

I paused, beginning to reflect on the consequences until Damon continued, “So, now that you have no director and a hated, washed-up celebrity, what are your plans?” he joked lightly. His self-awareness made him even more likable.

“I'll find the ones who REALLY care about this story," I told Damon with emphasis on the word ‘really.’ I added resolutely, “I have a plan, and I think it will work!”

“I like your confidence,” he admitted. “I’ll do my best to make your show a success.”
