When Vilian entered the room, the guests in the room didn't bother to spare a look at her. It was like she was non-existent, and she didn't mind it. Instead, she was glad that they were not looking at her and that their attention was fixed on the devil, who stood tall and handsomely in front of her.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Watson," greeted the man standing up from his seat with respect and bowed. That followed a beautiful fair girl who was tall and had curly brown hair with eyes that were emerald green.
"Good afternoon, Mr.Watson. I hope we didn't disturb you by any chance," spoke the girl worriedly bowing her head and peering through her fluttering eyelashes that reminded Vilian of a new paint brush lying over a fine piece of painting that had turned out to be the perfect outcome of the artist, but Astrel spared no glances on Kyle's gestures or bother to greet the siblings back. He nonchalantly sat on the single couch and crossed his legs one over the other and gestured them to sit with his hand.
Vilian could not take her eyes off the girl whoever she was, "You... look beautiful!" She could help but whisper it. Only then did Kyle and her brother gave a glance at Vilian who bit her tongue for being so stupid.
"I'm sorry, but did you say something?" asked Kyle not catching the words that came out of Vilian's mouth.
"You remind me of the exact definition of beautiful," she blurted out and not soon bit her inner cheek, taking a deep breath. Astrel turned to look at her, showering all the attention on her along with the other two.
"Aww, thank you!" exclaimed Kyle with a tint of a blush forming on her cheeks. "May I know who this pretty soul is, Mr. Watson?" She asked excitedly, looking at Astrel.
"I don't think you have met Vilian Frost before."
"I don't think I have heard or met her before, but... Frost sounds quite a bit familiar, don't you think brother?" Asked Kyle snapping his brother from his trance. He was caught up with observing Vilian. "I am Kyle Everstone and meet my brother, Kaecilius Everstone."
"It is good to meet you Ms. Kyle and Mr. Kaecilius," she bowed her head and greeted them and once she looked up, Kaecilius was walking up to her and moved his right hand forward. Confused Vilian looked up at the man and placed her hand above his and was immediately caught up in contact with the man's lips on her knuckles. Vilian was caught off guard with her widened eyes and pouding heart. 'Which man on earth would follow such an old gesture?' questioned Vilian on her mind. Astrel gave a narrowed look at Kaecilius which he saw.
"Oh my! Look at you, blushing just by a kiss on your hand. Looks like my brother was the first to place a kiss on your hand, is it?" asked Kyle gleefully, finding the chance to tease her brother. Vilian soon retracted her hand from the man's hold. She did not know that she was blushing until Kyle pointed it out. She felt tongue-tied.
"We didn't know you have a cute little female guest, Mr. Watson."
"That's because you decided to meet me without any prior notice," said Astrel, not holding his tongue on the matter. He raised his hand and the butler who was standing like a shadow on the corner came forward and started to serve the tea to the guest. Vilian was pulled to sit on the arm of the couch Astrel was sitting on. Kyle coughed out the tea which entered the wrong pipe seeing his open gesture.
"Are you alright, Kyle?" her brother asked worriedly and asked the butler for a glass of water and lend it to her sister. She drank it slowly still her eyes on Astrel and Vilian. She could not believe her own eyes, seeing the man who never let a Woman's hair fall on him was doing such a thing. 'Was he trying to pull her leg for what she did the last time?' questioned Kyle to herself hurtfully.
Vilian tried to get away from his hold but his hands were resting circling her waist firmly. Vilain glared at him and asked, "What do you think you are doing? Everyone's looking at us," She whispered louder enough, only for both of them to hear. Blood rushed up to her cheeks heating her in embarrassment. Astrel was enjoying teasing her.
"Showing you exactly how house flies are supposed to be?" he whispered back innocently, his deep voice vibrating all over her skin. Vilian looked bewildered by his change of attitude. 'This does not look so good,' thought, Vilian eyeing him suspiciously.
"Would you rather be sitting on my lap?" he asked
"I think I'm better where I am," she said faking a smile, gritting her teeth.
"Good kitty," she glared into his blue eyes as she held back her tongue. A thought came to her mind and she immediately performed it, stomping his foot she got away from his hold. For Astrel it felt like a little kid punching him, but he still her go on purpose.
"Ms. Kyle, are you alright? Your dress has been soaked with tea too. I think we should get you to the powder room," said Vilian observing her gown which had a brown stain. She was more than happy after successfully escaping from the clasp of the devil who was now acting up like a house fly. Taking the hot tea cup from Kyle's grasp, and handing it to Falcon, she helped her to stand up on her foot.
"You're right!"
"Falcon! Lead the ladies to the powder room," said Astrel giving a blank glance at Kyle and then shifting it to the girl who stood right next to her with a smirk. The butler bowed her head and said the ladies to follow him. Both the ladies were escorted to the powder room while the men started their business conversation. Astrel's amused expression when Vilian gave him the last glare before she left the room died in an instant once she left the room, replacing the usual cold aura.
"Looks like you've finally put an end to your boring life," stated lord Kaecilius with a grin on his face but received no response from the latter. At first, he could not believe what was happening just like her sister but composed himself. "Coming back to the reason that I had to come was to talk to you about the murder case. I have a hunch that the witches may have an involvement in it."
"No doubt."
"What makes you think of it so confidently?" Kaecilius was once again left with no response. His constant blatant ignorance always kicked his patience level, but he never showed it out.
In the powder room, Vilian leaned forward to the faucet washing her hands in the running water.
"I think I'll have to order the driver to bring me a dress. It's ruined," she said, tapping her feet on the ground nervously, looking at the once beautiful white gown with a brown wet patch, "Do you have your phone? I left mine on the coffee table," she asked, twirling her hair strands. Vilian was enough of everyone asking for her phone. These kinda things never happened when she had her phone. Earlier when they were walking to the powder room Vilian got the chance to return Falcon's phone.
"I don't have mine too... How about I ask your brother to inform it?" questioned Vilian.
"Yes, please! I'll ask the butler to show me to a guest room," she said and stood up uneasily due to the soaked dress, it was heavier than it was. When they were about to open the door a knock was heard.
"Yes?" Vilian asked opening the door slightly.
"I was asked to help the lady," said the maid stepping a little away from the door.
"Could you please lead the lady to the room where I stay?" asked Vilian politely. 'She stays here?' thought Kyle, a frown settling on her brows.
