Chapter 19: The Pursuit of Truth

Phinn POV

Phinn had to prove that he was more than just the asshole Arion thought he was. Sooner rather than later, he wanted Arion to realize the potential of the mate-ship. It was more than that of late though.

He realized he had true feelings for her, but he hadn’t had any competition. Arion was a lot to take on, not just because of her position, but just her nature. He also had stupidly assumed she’d come to realize her own feelings for him.

Now he had a puny human as his main competitor by interesting Arion due to his ‘gentlemen-ness’ or whatever Dorin called it in his etiquette class.

Phinn had thought about how to approach Arion this time. He wanted no reason for her to disregard him easily. He needed to be calm and concise for his plan to work. In order for Arion to even entertain his words, he needed proof. He also knew Dorin or Arion would never address each other to confirm or ask what Phinn already knew to be true.

It was up to him.
