Owen POV
Owen had been right about Reni changing his day.
He had caught her by surprise when he had approached her in the sewing shop. When she told him that she had a message from Arion, he was filled with excitement.
Forgetting about the earlier altercation, Owen read her words scrawled out on a piece of torn cloth:
‘Our spot. Tomorrow. Early noon.’
He couldn’t help but give Reni a thankful squeeze and then read it again.
Reni inquired where William was. Owen said he would fetch him and they could meet near the stables. He didn’t want Reni to have to go into the tavern or to have Will be blind-sighted by his love interest arriving in town.
William was wiping down the bar, talking to one of the regulars. Owen slid right up to the counter and leaned over. He motioned for William.
“You better not be asking me to do any more woodwork with you. I spent all evening pulling splinters out.”
