When Reni returned from the village yesterday, it had taken everything in Arion to focus on finishing her lesson with Caleb and Micah. She wanted to know how the town was, if Reni had seen William and, possibly, Owen. 


Reni had told her about the charming William, how happy Owen was to receive the note, and the other odd piece of information she had picked up while there; the lone wolf killing a traveler.


Arion had advised Reni to tell Malaki when she told her. Reni said she had on their ride back, but Malaki and Roderick were already aware of it. Isaac had told them about it during delivery. She said Malaki had told her to not worry and they would discuss it at a council meeting with some other matters. When Reni had pressed, he had answered:


‘If it affects us all, you’ll be told.’


Which was always the answer when any of them asked about the council meetings.
