Chapter 31: An Unexpected Turn

Arion knew she had made Owen worry as they left to meet up with everyone else. She wasn’t able to help that though. His confession and worry of losing her made her hate herself.

Owen felt bad for keeping a secret, a secret that was more of a gift than something he should be ashamed of. And here Arion was, keeping bigger and darker secrets from him. It had brought tears and guilt. He would have had questions, and she had no answers right now.

Of course, she didn’t care that Owen could heal. Her and the other shifters healed fast as well. Arion was trying to still process that Phinn hadn’t been lying.

Reni and William were already merged with most of the others when Arion showed up. Her and Owen were able to slip among them unnoticed. The majority were filling into the main cabin to get ready for their feast.

“We have to go take our places and set up,” Arion whispered to Owen and Will. She grabbed Reni’s arm and they headed in with the other females from their pack.
