The Moon was almost complete with her exchange with the sun. The lightning bugs were starting to appear, and the evening was proving to be calm for now. The exception being Arion and her thoughts.
She was pacing around, flicking her tail in irritation.
Reni’s voice entered her mind-link.
‘Are you ok?’
She was beginning to hear this question too often. She didn’t answer, fearing she may snap at Reni.
‘You know the moon has our adrenaline already coursing faster, there’s no need to add to it.’
Arion and Reni both turned their heads towards the large cinnamon-colored wolf.
‘Just keep your distance Phinn, I’m not in the mood,’ Arion snapped her jaws at him.
‘Why are we so upset?’ Phinn asked, amusement playing in his yellow eyes.
He slowly started circling Arion, taunting her.
‘Is it because you found troubling news in the missing pages?’
Arion continued to watch Phinn as he kept his path.
‘Or is it because lover boy doesn’t believe the princess can take care of herself?’
