I started to lose track of the days. I never stuck to any routine other than following my instincts. Today, it was time to reconnect with Matt. As soon as I woke up, I got ready and headed over to his house, hoping he would be there.
I knocked on his door and waited. After a few minutes, he answered the door.
“Hey, Ben. I haven’t heard from you in a while. Are you okay?” He asked me.
I shrugged my shoulders, “I’m not really sure. That’s why I was hoping you’d be home. Could I come in?” I asked him.
“Of course, come on.” He answered as he put his arm around my shoulder and we walked over to one of the couches in the living room.
“Where’s Shan? Or your parents?” I asked him, not quite ready to talk about myself yet.
“We actually broke up a while ago. We didn’t want the same things anymore. And my parents are both in Portland right now on a little vacation together. Anyway, how are you feeling?” He asked me and I sunk deeper into the couch.
