Chapter 23: Pelleas

I stood at the edge of Adhmad Dé as I felt the ground tremble beneath my feet. In the distance there was a great storm unlike anything I had ever seen and I prayed to all of the Gods that Helemoira was okay.

Not a moment later, I saw the flowers at my feet begin to wither and die.

"No," I whispered as I took a step forward, past where the barrier should have kept me from entering.

I didn't think, didn't care that someone may see me; I simply began running towards the storm.

All around me, the flowers that had only just bloomed began to wilt and fall to the ground. I knew that this spelled trouble, but the only thought running through my head was that Helemoira had to be okay. No matter what, she had to be okay.

I ran for hours, never tiring. Or, if I was, I didn't notice. I only knew that I had to find Helemoira.

When I could no longer run, I walked, and when I could no longer walk, I rested at the base of a tree until I could move once more.
