Chapter 7: Empty

JULIAN’S POV

I could feel Daniel’s gaze on me, drinking me in and f*cking judging me from across the room. He was finally back, the d*mn b*stard, and recovering after nearly being taken out by another Mafia family.

The smooth glass of my office window felt cold beneath my arm and fingertips, as I looked outside to look over the front yard of my mansion. I was trying to figure out how to make it safe for Vivian to continue to work towards her college degree. It had taken me all f*cking week and more to even begin to figure out a Godd*mn way for her to.

I made note of every d*mn civilian that had crossed the front sidewalk over the past few hours. I was supposed to be getting sh*t done, but I had barely grazed the surface of paperwork on my desk for the day. She was taking up my every Godd*mn moment, from waking to dreaming, and it was quickly becoming annoying as all h*ll. I had a f*cking job to do and I couldn’t do it with her on my mind.
