Chapter 21: Frustration

VIVIAN’S POV

I found Julian in his gym doing pull ups on a bar. His feet were crossed behind him and his back muscles and arms flexed with each pullup. Scars spanned across his back, from thick lines to circles the shape of the cherried end of a cigar. Another scar ran up and towards his right shoulder like a bullet had grazed his skin and missed either on accident or on purpose, I wasn’t sure which. A shiver ran through me at the sight of them as my heart broke, but I pushed the feeling away. I chose to focus on the way his dress pants contoured to his a*s and showed it off, as he pulled his own weight up and down with bursts of breaths and slow calculated movements.

I leaned against the wall with my arms crossed over my chest and smirked at him, “Is this how you work out your aggression and frustration?”

He dropped down from the bar with a grunt and nodded, peering over at me with a soft smirk and filled with confidence, “Better than on people.”
