I hit ‘send’ on the last of the paperwork to register Vivian into remote schooling when Daniel walked into my office. I tossed back the last of my Champagne and set the glass down to stare at him.


“Anything new?” I sat back in my chair with my ankle resting on my thigh and my fingers crossed in my lap.


“We got evidence of Carlo, Aiden’s underboss, talking to him about how easy it was to shoot in La Rosa.” Daniel groaned as he sank into the chair across from my desk.


I pursed my lips for a moment and nodded before relaxing and leaning forward onto my desk with my folded arms, “So, Carlo, pulled the trigger?”


“No, Aiden did, but Carlo had brought it up and was there.” Daniel sighed and rubbed his temple with his fingertips.


“What else did we find out?” I impatiently tapped my f*cking desk with my fingertips.
