Beauregard.
Javier was tense, had been since Bea had started to get ready as if the very idea of her getting ready had set his nerves on fire. There was more and more evidence that my brother of bond perhaps was indeed seeing my twin as something other than what he truly wanted to see her as, and the action of taking her to meet with the man that would be for all intents and purposes, her husband, was more than he could process and take.
The more Javier argued on the phone the more I could feel Bea's anxiety ripple off of her. I was immune to Javier's anger, he impressively had been on his best behavior inside the house around her, I was shocked that he was speaking so freely in front of Bea.
"I said I would take care of it!" Javier shouted into the phone and threw it on the dash.
"Want to tell me about it?" I asked, pulling on the cuff of my dress shirt.
"The city is failing. Jorge and Joaquin are up to their typical antics, fathers pissed."
