For humanity

"Completely eradicate them from the earth? Why do you think the government hasn't done that? You should be aware that the government issued an emergency retreat three years ago and quite a number of people have fled with them. Do you think that they don't have enough resources to keep those people alive? Or do you think they don't have enough men and weapons to prevent those people from rebelling? I believe you must have heard of the super soldiers created by the government, why do you think they are not trying to sweep the zombies from the planet!?" White Fang yelled, his eyes and voice suddenly filled with hatred as he mentioned the government.

'No kidding, it seems I'm not the only one who hates the government; they are a bunch of self-centered bastards!'

Edward thought to himself as he watched from the side.

Fablo stared at the heavily breathing White Fang for a few seconds, no words came out of his mouth. White Fang realized that he had overreacted due to his emotions and quickly apologized for yelling at Fablo, the man was a grown-up after all.

"It's fine, I get why you are so angry at them," Fablo said " but, that doesn't mean we have to live our whole lives like this, right? If the government can't do it, why don't we do the little we can? It might be that the government is too far to reach here now, who knows if they are doing the same thing in other places? Or maybe they had already given up on this city after the emergency evacuation three years ago? If they can't come to save us, why can't we clear our own path to them or create a human shelter of our own?" Fablo said in a low tone and the eyes of many people widened.

Fablo's voice had not been as loud as white Fang's just now but his speech had hit deeply into their hearts, they were moved by the man's commitment to humanity.

The place was in silence for a few seconds before white fang let out a burst of laughter.

"Hahahaha!! Good, very good! If that is the case, then In the name of humanity, we will help you"

White Fang said, staring at Fablo right in the eyes. His expression was akin to someone who was trying to suppress his greatest fear with borrowed courage or he was afraid that he would be unable to render his assistance if he delayed longer so saying it out loud would make it difficult for him to go back on his words.

Fablo showed an expression of gratitude upon hearing the words of the man, even Edward could not help but stare at him with admiration; such courage to help people with whom he did not have any ties with, all for the sake of humanity.

Lia, on the other hand, took a secret glance at the women who belonged to White Fang's shelter and was confused to see the look of disgust that they were throwing at White Fang.

Meanwhile, Fablo and the others went on to discuss their plans for their next cause of action. They all agreed to focus on reclaiming the military base after they had cleared the core area of the zombies and completely make this place into a safe area, they would then look for materials to set defense posts and barricades around the safe area. This included the area where Fablo's shelter was located as well, they had a lot of people now so they could do this in no time but first…the zombies at the front of the estate had to be cleared out.

"We will then move the people from our base here and build a bigger shelter, after which we will process to the military base," Fablo said and turned to look at Lia and the others in his group if they were alright with it and they all nodded In agreement, White Fang's side was also fine with the arrangement.

"Then that settles it, everyone gets some sleep, tomorrow is a new day," White Fang said and strolled off to a bed on the side, he laid on it and covered himself with a blanket.

The others also went to find a place to lay their heads for the night and since there were quite a lot of beds in the place, Fablo and his group members were also able to get a few while some had to share.

"Why would they have so many beds? Not like I'm complaining though" a woman who was sharing the same bed with Priscal voiced out in pure curiosity while trying to make herself comfortable.

"Who knows? Maybe they used to belong to their old members?" Priscal said jokingly.

Lia was not quite far from where they were and happened to hear Priscal's joke, she turned her head and her eyes fell on the figure of the six people who were going to keep watch.

They had just stepped out when she looked over but the weird feeling she was having suddenly intensified.

'I have to take a look' Lia thought to herself, she got up and went after them.

"Where are you going, Lia?" A woman called out to Lia when she passed beside her. Before now, she would not have bothered to ask Lia such a question… more like dared to question Lia because of how fierce and merciless Lia had been when she killed that woman back then because she had been infected, but after what they had gone through earlier today and how Lia had stood her ground for them, the people who had been in the same group with her now had a new impression of the sword woman and felt that she wasn't that fearsome anymore.

"It's nothing, I'm just going to get some air," Lia said with a small smile before moving past her and walking out of the place with fast steps.

A certain person covering himself with a thin blanket tailed Lia's back with his eyes.

"What's up with this woman? Hope those idiots don't do anything stupid" he mumbled under his breath before closing his eyes.

…..

A few blocks away from the place where Fablo and the others were sleeping, six figures could be seen inside a half-collapsed building with two of these figures sitting on the ground while the remaining four stood around them.

"Hehehe, finally we can get to enjoy them again" one of the four figures chuckled, the cold wind of the night made his words travel further than usual.
