Snivellus Slytherus - 76

Chapter 76:

"★~ Daphne Greengrass ~★ "

After many other names, McGonagall called "Harry James Potter."

There was silence in the Great Hall. Students were excited to meet the famous Boy-Who-Lived, the defeater of Voldemort. Many wanted Harry in their House after hearing and reading about his tales in books.

A boy with cold green eyes made his way to the sorting hat. The Half-Goblin and the professor, with a stern face, showed expectation.

McGonagall wanted to teach the son of her best student James Potter, and the half-goblin professor is excited to teach the son of his favourite student Lily Marie Evans, or Lily James Potter, née Evans.

"SLYTHERIN" announced the hat.

Daphne and many students were taken aback. Even Dumbledore looked pale and suddenly aged more. Snape looked like he had eaten a sour, rotten lemon.

"*Ahem* next student, Professor" Asura replied, causing McGonagall to come out her surprise.

Daphne thought Potter would go for Ravenclaw, seeing him distant and reading books when on the train ride, but her surprise didn't stay for long when she unconsciously looked at Asura, who was looking at her with a smile.

Daphne again blushed, but her friend didn't tease her, since Tracey was still surprised that the Boy-Who-Lived would be in Slytherin.

Everyone at the Slytherin table started cheering, and Harry then sat down after finding an empty seat.

Soon Dumbledore stood up and announced "Let the feast begin."

Daphne made her way to her room, sharing with her best friend.

"So Daphy… Happy to see your favourite person~" Tracey said teasingly.

Daphne was too tired to bother with her friend's antics, so she sat down on the bed and arranged her luggage.

"Boohoo~ you are no fun" Tracey said and soon started to arrange her things.

"Does anyone know the way to Transfiguration class?" asked Tracey, who was waiting with every first year in the common area.

"A prefect will be arriving to take you to your first class." replied an upperclassman, who heard Tracey.

Daphne then saw a person wearing a badge with the letter "P" and introduced herself as Gemma Farley.

Daphne already saw many signs of aggression between Slytherin and Gryffindor, and surprise surprise, in her schedule, most classes are combined with Gryffindor students.

Arriving at the transfiguration class, she noticed a black cat weirdly sitting properly on a desk. She also noticed how the cat was looking toward everyone and paying attention to where they were sitting.

Being one of the two registered animus, Daphne easily guessed the cat was the professor.

Like she suspected, the cat transformed into McGonagall to scold the two students who had arrived late. One of them she recognised as Ron Weasley, with red hair and hand-me-down clothes.

Daphne was not surprised when McGonagall turned a bird into a cup. She has seen Asura demonstrate, transfiguring a large rock into a flying dragon.

McGonagall then handed everyone a matchstick to let them practice it, to turn it into a needle.

Daphne didn't have trouble. She turned the matchstick into a beautiful needle with gems with designs.

"30 POINTS for Slytherin!… never in my teaching career have I seen a first-year transform a matchstick into such a beautiful needle." McGonagall said after noticing Daphne's needle.

"Thank you, Professor McGonagall" Thanked Daphne.

"Do you mind if I keep it with me?" McGonagall asked as she has a habit of collecting things that her students made which made her proud.

Daphne didn't mind giving her the needle. McGonagall then cast another spell and said "That was to make it stay longer."

Transfiguration never stays permanent. The transfiguration can be undone if a caster dies or forgets about the spell. Unless a skilled caster can make it either stay longer or permanent.

That's why you should never eat transfigured food and could never conjure food.

You can also use a spell to un-transfigure something.

Daphne noticed the looks she was getting. Many were in awe of her, some were happy, and some were jealous, especially the bushy-haired girl who was sending her looks like she had killed her cat.

"What's her deal?" whispered Tracey next to Daphne.

Daphne simply shrugged her shoulder, saying she doesn't know, but she has some idea what kind of person Hermione is.

Daphne worked on her class essay for the whole class, since her assignment was already finished.

The next class was charms. Like in her previous class, she had impressed the charms professor and earned another 20 points for demonstration and answering some questions.

If she hadn't met Asura, she would have stayed in the dark and not participated in answering any of the questions. Instead, she has learned the importance of fame, strength, and glory.

Throughout charms class, she was getting sneaky looks from the bushy girl, who was giving her a competitive glare by raising her hand whenever the professor asked a question.

Daphne knew that she either needed to talk to Hermione or complain to the teacher. She was getting so annoyed being stared at all the time.

Arrived at the potions class, which was in the dungeons. The first thing she saw written on the board was "Professor Snape" and many instructions on how to brew a simple potion.

Soon a person with greasy hair, a long crooked nose, and all-black clothes that made him look like a creepy vampire arrived, barging in and introducing himself.

The Potion Professor, who is known as the youngest potion master, but that title, was taken away by Asura, who has written an exam to get his master in Potion Brewing.

"There is no foolish wand-waving or silly incantation in this class" said Snape as he arrived.

Then Snape went to how great brewing potions were and how we don't appreciate potions enough.

"Mr Potter… our new celebrity" Snape said as he stared at Harry.

Daphne was taken aback. First, she didn't notice Harry in any classes she had with Gryffindor, and even some students realised that Harry Potter was in some of their classes and didn't pay attention.

"Tell me, what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?" asked Snape.

"I don't know sir" replied Harry with an unusual coldness to them.

"Let's try again. Where do you find me a bezoar?" asked Snape again.

"I believe it in the stomach of a goat, Mr Snape" came out a voice of a person with red hair who arrived inside to answer the question.

Daphne turned her head as quickly as a flash, hearing Asura's familiar voice.

"Bullying a student with questions from OWL and NEWTs isn't appropriate, Professor Snape." said Asura, staring at Snape with intimidating golden eyes.

"I believe it is my class, and I have the right to teach however I can… Professor Black." replied Snape with an apathetic tone.

"I do not tolerate bullying, Professor Snape. I have already informed the Headmaster of your previous incidents… and yes, it is a warning. I do not care if you are the potion's professor." Asura said in an assertive tone.

Daphne was excitedly seeing her mentor fighting with her potions professor. But, much to her irritation, many girls were staring at him.

"I will take Ms Daphne… come" Asura said, looking toward Daphne.

Listening to Asura's words, Daphne got up, packing hurriedly and followed Asura, giving a last glance at her professor.

Arriving at the DADA office, Asura and Daphne sat down.

Daphne lost her 'Cold' looks she maintained on the outside. Looking at Asura gently, she asked "So… what do you need me for?"

Asura smiled and said "Would you believe it if I said I got bored… so I called my favourite little ice princess?"

Daphne blushed at being called by the nickname which was given by Asura. Then, rolling her eyes, she replied "I would believe it if it's you."

Asura chuckled and said "Jokes aside… I can make one person an apprentice. I can only choose a student from 5th year, but with some favours and other things, I chose you."

Asura's first choice was Dora, but sadly this was her last year, so she is pretty busy.

Daphne had never heard a teacher choosing an apprentice, so she asked "What can they do?"

"Well… they don't have to attend classes other than to take exams and hand in everyday class work, which I will give. You have unrestricted access to everything I have in this room, and you will be trained by me every day… and help around." Asura said.

Daphne's eyes shone in excitement. She knew how knowledgeable and powerful Asura was, so she won a fortune by getting taught personally by Asura. Asura trained her previously, but it was just light training and mostly non-wizarding things.

"Sadly, you can't earn house points from me… but who cares" Asura said casually.

Daphne nodded, since she too doesn't care about the House Cup.

"I will send you to classes sometimes to make sure you make some friends and interact with them… okay?" Asura asked, winking his eye.

Daphne chuckled, since she knew what he meant. He wants her to attend some classes and show off.

Daphne spent the whole day with Asura and went to her rooms, where the classes finished.

Daphne was of course, hit with tons of questions at the dinner table. Even upperclassmen were interested to hear what had happened.

Asura is very popular in the school. His classes were always fun, interactive and, most of all, exciting. Asura always teaches them essential things while also covering the basics, and sometimes he even rewards the students. So no one likes to miss his class.

Even charms teacher Professor Flitwick sometimes likes to attend his class to discuss some charms after class.

Asura maintained good relationships with all the teachers, except Snape and McGonagall.

During their teacher conference, Asura repeatedly reminded Snape should not be harsh on students.

McGonagall is strict and likes to follow whatever Dumbledore believes, so Asura doesn't interact with her much.

The best relationship he had was with Dumbledore. In most of his free time, Asura spends time with Dumbledore and discusses current events. And Dumbledore himself believes he has a close relationship with Asura, as they both call each other by their first names.

Asura's insight into magic is vastly different from the way Dumbledore thinks, so they both get into good arguments which can last up to a week once in a while. But, at the end of the day, Dumbledore loses many times, not that he is not knowledgeable enough, it is just he doesn't know Asura has hundreds of anime knowledge in his head.

Dumbledore started trusting Asura after observing him for a while. With his companion Fawkes and his crafty mind, he could guess Asura is a person with good morals.

"Albus, don't you think keeping a possessed person on school grounds is dangerous" asked Asura, who was having his usual discussions with Dumbledore.

Dumbledore chuckled and said "Thought it would have taken longer."

"I expected you to know, but I didn't expect you were letting him do whatever he wants" Asura replied while petting Fawkes.

Dumbledore sighed. He wanted to tell Asura that it was all part of his plan for Harry Potter, but he was afraid to see the disappointment in his new friend's eyes.

Dumbledore has been making many plans for Harry Potter, who has unexpectedly joined the Slytherin. First, he wanted to control Harry's friend's group, but discovered that Harry is anti-social and has no friends.

Dumbledore has been observing Harry; every day, he is getting increasingly afraid of what he finds out. Harry's behaviour closely resembled his sister Arianna after her incident with the muggles.

"Let it be Asura… I-I" Dumbledore wanted to explain, but his motto 'For the greater good' is stopping him.

"I understand, Albus, but I won't promise I won't involve when he gets his hands on my students!" Asura said righteously.

Asura already knows that Voldemort made a temporary Horcrux out of Quirrell. He just wanted Voldemort to try to steal the Philosopher's stone, so he could steal it himself, blaming it on Snake-face.

"Thank you, Asura. There will be a time everything will be revealed. I heard that you chose an apprentice?" Dumbledore asked, masking his guilty face.

"Yes, I wanted Nymphadora Tonks, but unfortunately, she is busy with her exams, so I chose Daphne Greengrass, who I spent a lot of time teaching and healing." Asura explained.

"It's still fascinating to hear you cure such a dangerous and advanced curse." Dumbledore complimented Asura.

Asura simple shrugged and said "Well I am proficient in healing."

Dumbledore chuckled again at how Asura simplified his achievement.

Taking another Lemon Drop in his mouth, he said "I still don't understand why you don't like Lemon Drops… Yum… They are delicious!"

Dumbledore tried to make Asura addicted to Lemon Drops like him many times, but sadly Asura doesn't like it since it is so sour.

"How can you even eat tons of them every day when they are so sour… if you weren't a wizard, I would have worried your health would get spoiled." Asura said, shaking his head.

Dumbledore's favourite things are thick woolen socks and lemon drops. He has a stash of them filled in a special cupboard.

After Asura chatted for a while, he took his leave by saying "I will take my leave, Albus. I have classes to teach in the early morning."

"Very well, my friend" Dumbledore said while enjoying his Lemon Drops.

Asura is sure Dumbles has been mixing something in the Lemon Drops.
